The Free Adam Dunn Thread (1 Viewer)

Adam Dunn has been underappreciated by the Cincinnati Reds and their fans for far too long. And now with Dusty Baker there? Ugh. Its only a matter of time before he yells at Dunn for taking too many pitches and not being "aggressive" enough at the plate.

So FREE ADAM DUNN!!

I suggest trading him to Detroit for Dallas Trahan and Marcus Thames.

Reds have a team option on him. Has it been picked up?

From 2 weeks ago:

Update: Reds' CEO Bob Castellini said that Dunn's option will be picked up this offseason, the Cincinnatti Enquirer reports.

Recommendation: "It's very difficult to replace that type of offense," Castellini said, "and I think Adam wants to step up and be a leader on this club." There may even be talk of extending Dunn's contract to last past next season. When asked about that, Castellini said, "That's always a thought."

Gotta think Dunn will be moved at some point before July. Almost everyone would be interested and for good reason.

The Nationals would take him in a heartbeat, and Jim Bowden knows him well. You want Ryan Church, Reds? How about Felipe Lopez back?

He seems like an American League player more than a National League player. He'd have been perfect in the old Tigers Stadium, eh DD?

With the short porch he would have hit 50 without even really trying all that hard.
He'd be a perfect fit for Los Tigres right now -- we need a LF and with all the free swingers in that lineup, he'd be a very welcome addition.

 Dunn strikes out at alarming rates. Not that I think that is a bad thing, but to insinuate that he would somehow balance out the free swiniging tendencies of the other players is wrong.

He probably needs to move to 1B next year. He is a terrible outfielder.

I know he strikes out a lot, but he also walks a ton. One of the biggest problems with the Tigers lineup is they don't work the pitchers. Dunn most certainly does. He's the ultimate 3 true outcomes guy. You gotta love him!

I would welcome him to the Tribe. I know we have more than enough to get him, but probably won't happen for a one year rental (assuming the Tribe offers CC boatloads leaving nothing for guys like Dunn).

Good Lord:

The other day, the Reds manager decided he wanted Joey Votto and Adam Dunn to swing their bats more. "I don't like called third strikes," Baker said.

So how long will Baker and Dunn be able to coexist?
