The Harrison beat-down... drew a flag, but.... (1 Viewer)

there was no punch, get over it
sorry. he struck him with his hand. either way it doesnt make it better. you dont through blows to a guys back when hes already down and there is absolutely no need for it. Whoever wants to keep defending it stop, your starting to look unclassy too. There was nothing right about what he did, get over it.

It was a bush league move by Harrison ... if you saw the whole play which NBC showed in replay you'll see Harrison make his point, then continue his actions excessively ... he was penalized for those actions but he should have and could have been turfed .. goon tactics ... "shame on him"

Anyone got video of this "beat down"?

I was coming out of the bathroom and just caught the tail end of it and all I saw was the push to the chest that knocked the guy over.
Looks like 2 "pushes" to me.

Thanks. I'll have to check them out when I get home.
After watching it again -- I think he was pissed that the guy tried to take him out at the knees
You have obviously never played football before let alone blocked anybody. There was nothing wrong with what the Cardinals player did.Harrison punched him and should be suspended/fined.

 I played football since I was 6, he got pissed that the guy tried to chop him, and he got a personal foul penalty for roughing him up. This is football, not patty cakes, which I'm sure you lettered in high school in if you think this was some kind of assault.

Perception is reality, my mullet sporting dirtball!
So if my perception of you is a loser who sits at home in his Superman underoos, spouting nonsense on a football message board because he has no life, no friends, and the closest he has come to an intimate relationship with a woman was when his grandmother gave him sloppy, lipstick-smearing kisses, IS THAT REALITY?
:goodposting: Except it's Batman underoos.

In defense of Rascal, his AV club in high school was a pretty tough crowd at times.

Say what you want, but that is the kind of attitude you want/need in some of your players (o-line and front 7 on defense especially). You gotta be kind of mean. And that means some "cheap" stuff here and there. So be it. Man's game.

I coach high school football and the University of Utah will be signing our left tackle tomorrow. Coach Whittingham has seen a ton of film on this guy and one of his favorite things is how mean this kid. Sometimes it shows between plays.

Don't get me wrong, too much of that is a bad thing. But I'd rather reign in a guy with too much juice versus trying to get guys fired up.

Harrison is dominant for many reasons and his attitude is a big one.

 Harrison's actions there were excessive and he was properly flagged for it. End of story.

I fully agree with this. Me saying otherwise was just fishing. Harrison is nasty. I do suspect he's on some "supplements", but bet most players today are. Players like him are great when they're on your team (See Rodney Harrison, Brian Dawkins, Bill Romanowski, Charles Haley, ect...)Harrison is still a ##### for hitting his GF.

That's the trade-off with those guys. You'll get some stupid penalties here and there but it's the off-field issues that hurt worse. Some of these guys can't turn it off when the game is over. So you get the legal issues and problems with grades (college and HS). But they'll win games for you, too, and sometimes football can be a vehicle that teaches them some lessons. A lot of love/hate relationships out there for sure.Get your thug on.
