The I'm starting Tebow over........ (1 Viewer)

I was a bit perplexed to see FG rank Tebow at #6 this week. Yes, the Miami D hasn't played well, but with no Lloyd and this being his first start of the year, I just have a hard time seeing him have a great game. With Moore at QBfor Miami, I just don't see them putting up many points and this will probably be a low scoring affair--I'm guessing Tebow only throws the ball around 15-20 this game. I think he will have some nice games moving forward, but I don't think this is one of them. By the way, how about listing which QB you are either starting over Tebow this week, or benching for him. I have Rivers, Freeman, and Tebow and if Gates plays, I can't see sitting Rivers. That said, with them playing on the road against a decent secondary, I can't help but lower expectations.

I really want to start Tebow over Romo but don't know if I have the guts. Our league has a quirky scoring system with a length of TD bonus and QB rush TD's are double points. Last week for instance Tebow scored 27 in a quarter and a half.

Tough decision because I think Romo goes off this week.

Probably starting him over Matt Ryan... even though I have a rather strong feeling that the Falcons win this week vs Detroit. Tebow's upside is simply too strong and I'm going to need that type of ceiling with Wes Welker out this week.

This has me stumped. Ben plays against the Cardinals and he is ranked 5 lower than Tebow. I have both of these guys and I dont think I can nut up and start Tebow over him.
Why does that shock you so much? Save 1 game Ben's stat lines have been more or less gross for fantasy owners this season.
Code:
Week Yards TDs INTs1 280 1 32 298 1 03 364 1 14 206 0 15 228 5 16 200 1 0
Also, Week 5 was a fluke... 100%. Ben has never had a game like that in his life. That game was pretty much defensive turnovers giving Ben easy TDs. Not likely to happen with frequency.

This week I'll sit Flacco for him. Next week when Fitpatrick is off of a bye it will be a harder decision. Hopefully this week will make next week's decision easier. If Tebow cant put up points against Miami there is something wrong. ON top of that it is a homecoming of sorts for him so his 'emotional content'(Enter the Dragon) will be huge.

So what are your projections for both guys?

Good point (except I wouldn't call Week 5 a "fluke", Ben's had a lot of high scoring FF games in his career - obviously not 5 TD's but lots of yardage)...I was leaning towards Roethlisberger but may change to Tebow.

Over Schaub in one league and over Ryan in the other. No big fan of the guy as an NFL player but as a fantasy player I'm hoping to ride him to titles.

Just going by FBG (Dodds/Tremblay/Norton) Custom Cheatsheet for Quarterback - Week 7 projections. They have Tebow ranked 12th and Roethlisbeger ranked 13th. For what it's worth, it doesn't look like much of a difference numbers wise.
You are looking at custom cheat sheets.

Rankings/Cheatsheets - Week 7

Offense By David Dodds; IDP by John Norton Updated 6:14pm PT October 18th, 2011

Quarterback

6. Tim Tebow - DEN at MIA

12. Ben Roethlisberger - PIT at ARI

Regardless, Tebow is ranked ahead in both projections. No one should be stumped here.

ya I'm in the same boat, but Tebow is playing MIA Def who is horrible and let a struggling Sanchez get 1 Pass TD and 1 Rushing TD, put that on top of Tebow's high fant point production and its starts to stand out.

So what are your projections for both players? My guess is BR - 280 passing, 90% chance for -1 td, 50% 2 - tds & 10 yards rushing - 5% rushing TDTT - 180 passing, 50% chance for 1 td, 20% chance for 2- tds & 45 yards rushing with 50% chance at a rushing TD

Starting him because Vick is on bye this week. Hoping he does well enough that I can trade off Vick for help in other areas. If I wouldnt manage trading away Vick there would be some weeks I would probably start Tebow over him.

I am rolling with Tebow for the next two weeks. I hope he starts putting up great numbers because I neglected my QB in the draft and have Freeman and Cutler. I missed out on bids for other QBs that emerged so I put in a decent bid on Tebow. I still don't think he is going to be a great NFL QB but I think he will be decent and more importantly fantasy relevant.

Not sure why. PIT can run it right down AZ's throat. I can't see AZ scoring much in this game. Mendenhall can have another 100/TD type of game. Ben still should do fine, but Tebow has more upside.Between Ben and Tebow.....the decision is easy. If you're the clear favorite at other positions, protect the QB points and go with Ben, as he should be able to post 250 yds and 2TDs in this game fairly easily. If you're a dog, you need the upside.....go with Tebow.

Despite not having a good completetion percentage and looking like the most awkward QB on the planet Tebow ate up bad teams last year. Just look at he did in one half last week. I love Ben but it's going to be just as much of a roller coaster with him and the OLine all year. I'm taking Tebow's upside, those rushing TD's really add up.

I really want to start Tebow over Romo but don't know if I have the guts. Our league has a quirky scoring system with a length of TD bonus and QB rush TD's are double points. Last week for instance Tebow scored 27 in a quarter and a half. Tough decision because I think Romo goes off this week.
Hope so, because I'll be starting Romo over Tebow myself. Those two defenses rank #30-31 vs QB in my league.Shoot--I'd love to see both of them go off, of course. Picked up Tebow last week and really waffled over it until I was reminded that he was the top scoring player over the last three weeks of 2010.

you kidding me? the commish have vick last year? seems like a goofy rule. anyways, STL D is awful. I'm starting Romo over Tebow and not thinking twice about it.
Leagues that have been around for 15+ years (like mine) probably have their roots in "Franchise Football League". It called for length of TD bonuses and double scoring for "out of position" TDs: QB rushing, RB receiving, WR rushing, etc.We had to tone down the scoring a tad during the Kordell Stewart years.

Heck, Brad Johnson once threw a TD pass to himself. It was worth triple!

Starting Tebow over Brady.

Actually dropped TJackson Sea for Tebow. The Broncos QB change couldn't have come at a better time for me.
