The I'm starting Tebow over........ (1 Viewer)

Yeah, I'd have a hard time starting him over Ben, considering the excellent matchup.

I plan on riding Tebow the rest of the season over Ben.
I have this same decision and I am giving it a week or two to see how he does. We get 1 pt per 25yds (.04) rushing so he isn't quite as valuable as a regular .10 per yard league. Plus I got burnt last time I took Ben out when I thought he was hurt and going up against a supposed tough Tenn defense.Lions next week for Tebow....

Anybody watching the NFL network, the Tim Tebow hype is getting out of hand. I hope Miami and their McDonald's QB (as Michael Irvin called Moore) beat the crap out of Tebow.

I'll give you the fact that Tebow played 3 games last year but if you remember for the majority of the season Orton was a top 10 QB maybe even top 5 or 6 so what does that say? They have a new coach, a new system and they just lost their best WR who was the #1 WR in the entire league last season who many forget was Tebow's go to guy.
You also have to remember how much of a downward spiral that team was already on before Tebow came in last year. Orton's last two games before Tebow came in looked like this:9-21 32.1% 117yds 4.2ypa 0td 0int19-41 46.3% 166yds 4.0ypa 0td 3intI do agree with you that losing Lloyd is a major blow to him though, as he really tended to lean on Lloyd. Tebow is the kind of guy that likes to give his receivers a chance to make a play in single coverage and Lloyd really excelled at that, he's going to be difficult to replace for them. Decker is more of a precision route runner and that's not really Tebow's game.

I am starting him over Brees. Brees has been solid but my gut feeling is that NO blows out IND and turns to the run game. Whereas the MIA matchup is almost perfect for Tebow.

Wonder why they're not letting the dude throw the ball.

SIX pass attempts? You definitely can't win that way, unless of course you were playing in 1915.

a lot of called pass plays can turn into Tebow runs and sacks. Out of Tebow's 6 rushes, I'll guess that 3-4 of them were actually called pass plays.

Ugh....this is hard to watch. At least he's doing better than my other option this week (Hasselbeck).

Makes sense. This is definitely an unmitigated disaster from a fantasy perspective. At least he's beating Freeman, though I see Freeman ending the day with more points at this rate.

How long before they go back to Orton? Good to see the fans making the personnel decisions for the Broncos. This usually works out well.

Tebow has a terrible day and puts up 24 points for fantasy teams and wins the game. Can't wait for a good day.
It doesn't get any easier than the Dolphins so I wouldn't count on much, not a bad bye week fill in for Brady though

Tebow owners have fun against a real defense.
Good point. The #1 pass and rush defense did manage to hold him to only 28 fantasy points last year (in 4 point per pass TD leagues).
It is true that he was fantasy gold at the end of last year, but I have a feeling that Fox will make it difficult for him to keep up his average fantasy score this year.
That's a fair point. I was hoping that the last 5 minutes of the game (in addition to the end of the SD game) would have taught him something about letting Tebow open things up, but in overtime he went right back into the ultra conservative mode that doesn't fit Tebow at all.Tebow's accuracy is inconsistent. He has a much better chance of keeping a drive going if you let him try to pick up 10 yards twice than if you try to let him pick up 6 yards once.

Roethlisberger
This has me stumped. Ben plays against the Cardinals and he is ranked 5 lower than Tebow.
Just going by FBG (Dodds/Tremblay/Norton) Custom Cheatsheet for Quarterback - Week 7 projections. They have Tebow ranked 12th and Roethlisbeger ranked 13th. For what it's worth, it doesn't look like much of a difference numbers wise.
You are looking at custom cheat sheets.

Rankings/Cheatsheets - Week 7

Offense By David Dodds; IDP by John Norton Updated 6:14pm PT October 18th, 2011

Quarterback

6. Tim Tebow - DEN at MIA

12. Ben Roethlisberger - PIT at ARI

Talk about overthinking things. I really hope he was just kidding here.
Nope. It is looking bad but you might want to wait until the game is over before you bury me.
I won't bury you but I hope you didn't cost yourself by missing out on Brees's 5 td's.

No. I am up by 20 and still have Ray Rice. Thanks for the concern. :) The thing is, last week I went with the common wisdom and did not play Donald Brown, eventhough I had a feeling he would be a good play. He scored and my decision to follow common wisdom and play Michael Bush instead DID cost me a win. So, I have decided not to worry what most people think and go with my gut when it comes to starting lineup. I think the common wisdom tends to miss out on situational opportunity and it tends to over weight recent past experience, or in the case of Tebow, collective prejudice.
