Well...I haven't updated here, but I did (or at least am trying) to get a Jeep again. I ordered a 2022 Gladiator Sport S Diesel in early October - literally the day they started taking 2022 orders. I was pleasantly surprised that it arrived at the dealership the week before Christmas. I excitedly made an appointment to pick it up a few days later.
Fast forward to the day of pick-up. I get a call from the dealership that my Jeep was throwing a check-engine-light for a fuel system issue during the pre-pick-up inspection. Further, it needed a part replaced as the one from the factory was defective. As a final kick in the nuts, they told me the part was on 2 week back-order.
Well....yay. Now I'm 3+ weeks since my Jeep was originally supposed to have been picked up. I now know my "brand new" Jeep will have already been "under the knife" for a repair...and nobody has any clue when I'll actually be able to even get it because the part is back-ordered with no ETA. Really, really awful customer experience.
The dealership has pretty much said they've exhausted every option for sourcing the part. They've called their regional manager, and other local dealers - no luck. I've opened a ticket with Jeep Cares customer service....That's a laughable organization. It's been 2 weeks. In my initial ticket I provided my VIN, my dealer, and a background on what happened. I've gotten 2 contacts back. The first one was within 24 hours, asking for my VIN. I re-provided. The second was in response to my social media complaint that nobody had gotten back to me...in that one, another person indicated she "was not my case rep, but needed the dealer information." I again re-provided that....So as of now, I still haven't talked to who the heck is my ACTUAL case officer, and they've only asked me 2 questions I already answered.
At this point, I'm really close to just telling them I'm done and looking at something else. It's totally ridiculous. If domestic manufacturers can't fill supply of basic parts, we're screwed if a world war ever breaks out. We won WWII due to our industrial might - we'll probably lose WWIII because of our dependence on foreign manufacturing.
