The Los Angeles Dodgers (blew it). (1 Viewer)

I absolutely HATE Dodger Blue during the regular season, but I don't mind pulling for my SoCal bros after my Pads have been eliminated. Here's hoping for an all LA World Series. Go Angels, and Go Blue.
You CAN'T be serious...When Garvey went to the Pads in '84 he went from being favorite player to my most hated player, THAT DAY and everyday thereafter. If the Pads were in the WS vs. France I would STILL NOT root for SD, neighbors in SoCal or not. Besides, isn't SD really North Mexico anyway?
Sounds like a personal problem. Don't get me wrong, I get almost as much enjoyment watching the Dodgers get blown out at home as watching my Friars win. But I follow the organization pretty closely, and it's tough to pull against Martin, DeWitt, and Either. They play hard, and they play the right way. And as much as Kemp is somewhat of a hot dog, it's hard not to appreciate how much talent he has.I'm certainly not going to pull for the Phillies, Brewers, or Cubs. Milwaukee's was decent story, but still, they're Milwaukee.
i have never understood this logic. the root for the team that knocked you out, or the team from your division. just don't get it. never have. :goodposting:
Don't worry, I'd cut my eyelids off before I ever pull for the Raiders to win any playoff game, assuming they ever reach the playoffs again.

sonny,

wtf was up with mary hart reading the lineup? horrible. if this holds up, you'll have to bring her back tomorrow.

Just got done watching it (had to dvr it).

First couple innings were great. Biggest part of the game was DeWitt's clutch hit. Not only for the statement early on, but it's good to have someone else be the man.

Strike zone wasn't consistent...

Furcal's bat coming to life is/could be big.

Loved Kuroda tonight.

Victorino handled everything well. I like him...even more on a plane back to Hawaii next week.

How 'bout Wade? Kid was solid.

Gotta say, I'm pretty bummed. Figured I'd be over it by the next day but, nope. Maybe because I realize it's over. Or maybe it's things like those two HR balls in each game, missing by a few feet, that could very well have been the difference. That kinda stuff kills me. I'd rather have 'em just get beat. Maybe it's fate, when you think about where the Philly HR have gone over the walls, and where the Dodgers non-HR have hit.

And that's just part of it. SO many little things that just haven't gone their way...I'm not gonna begin to go through it all. Phillies too, have had their bad luck, and I don't even want to start in on the ####### strike zone(s). WTF is up with that?! Anyway, the series should easily be tied, imo.

It just feels like they shouldn't be going home damn it. I guess because I think the Dodgers are better.

Anyway, congrats Philly fans, nice run, and good luck in the WS!

Well I'm torn here. I want Philly to WIN but I have tix if it goes to a game 6.

I hope it doesn't got to game 6 but I hope it does.

:goodposting: but hey there is still a chance.......Once it is officially over we can start a new offseason thread and monitor what needs to happen (Resign Blake, have Manny to teach KEMP how to be a hitter, waive bye bye to kent & Nomar, wonder about Penny, Furcal, Lowe and their future....)

 Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm bummed too. :(

Look, I always see this stuff as if I were the manager/coach and I think about how I would motivate my team so here goes:

Tonight: We have been the best home team in baseball since the All Star break and are 5-1 vs. Philly in LA this year. Bills has been our best pitcher this entire year and he's on full rest after pitching just 2.1 innings last outting. WIN.

Game 6: Kuroda has been our best post-season pitcher to-date. He'll be on full rest. We're due to win one in Philly. WIN.

Game 7: "Big Game" Lowe on full rest vs. 46 yo Moyer (0-2 in playoffs) in a do-or-die with the Dodgers having stolen the momentum and the Philly Phaithful thinking chooooooke. WIN.

Don't fret Dodger fans, we got this.

Go Blue!!!

I sure didn't like how 2008 ended, but I definitely enjoyed the ride. Thanks to the 2008 Dodgers for a fun season.
:hifive: Now, resign Furcal, Manny and Penny, maybe Blake too for the right price, add a starting pitcher, and we're good to go. I happen to think that that bullpen will be fine with the guys they have even if Saito doesn't come back. They had a bad series, but that was a good bullpen all year.
