Really liked this movie.  I get that a lot of the science stuff was probably at least partially BS but I enjoyed it. Damon did a great job carrying this one. Very likable.

from what i've read, the only science stuff they took liberty with was the initial storm on Mars and the ironman rescue at the end.

My kids really like the movie and we've been watching bits of it on HBO. I am also re-reading the book.

My current question is I get his listening to others music and such for variety, but if he hates the Disco soooo much, why isn't he listening to anything of his own? Didn't they allow each of them a certain amount of data space for music and video?

He didn't bring any music. The captain was the only one from what I remember who had any media. She also had the 70s TV shows.

Couldn't imagine going on a couple year and a half-ish mission without any media. Maybe that's just me.

Once this movie gets going, it's pretty good. 

Until the end. Then you're asking yourself why would they go through so much of the movie trying to be scientifically realistic to throw it all away on "flying like Iron Man"?

Saw the movie first and then read the book....and I wonder why they included that stupid Iron Man stuff.  He mentions it in the book but doesn't go thru with it.  I guess the movie felt they needed a "lowest common denominator" moment.
