Are we allowed to choose movies that were grossly misplaced on the original countdown?

I have about 100 movies ready, just have to rank them.

I would be more than happy to send a top 60 not on the top 101 list for consideration as well!

Let me know

I assume same criteria we used, just how much you like the movie/how good you think the movie is?

My criteria are favorite movies from the 80 in the 80s, which means I don't really give a rat's *** whether a movie has aged well or not. Since I grew up in the 80s, it's going to be heavy on blockbusters/sci-fi/action, but I was a weird kid who was also into horror at a young age, so expect a lot of that as well. It works well because horror was a very notably omitted from the first list.

Working on rankings now and will have them to shuke today.

It would also be great if the criteria shuke will be using for the final list is posted. I didn't quite understand from the first thread when a movie was #25 on KP's list, and #15 on 80s list and the movie ended up #10 or whatever.

Could you kindly provide links to the other lists so we know what is and isn't available.
TIA

It would also be great if the criteria shuke will be using for the final list is posted. I didn't quite understand from the first thread when a movie was #25 on KP's list, and #15 on 80s list and the movie ended up #10 or whatever.
It was scored like golf. If had a movie 81 and KP had it 40, it was scored at 121. Any movie that didn’t make one our lists, received 101 as a penalty. So if my number 20 movie wasn’t on his list, it ended up at 121 as well. Then it was just ranked from lowest points to highest to find the top 101.

So that’s how a movie one person had really high and the other didn’t rank could end up sliding where as a movie we both had in the middle could shoot up the rankings.

At least that’s how he did last time. Could have just as easily flipped it and made the #1 ranked movie worth a 100, #2 worth 99 and so on.

Ok, list of my top 60 sent to shuke. A few comments.

- There is one drama on my list. One. And it's not even really a drama, more of a thriller. No artsy fartsy but probably dozens of fart jokes across all the movies on my list.
- This being the next 100, there are a few sequels as should be expected, a lot more than the original list. Out of the 60 movies sent, 20 are sequels.
- There is one made for TV movie on my list. It's probably not on anyone else's list so it may not make the final 100, but the nostalgia factor is high for me with this one. I will get a lot of crap for it, but hey at least I didn't rank RotLA 63!
- Of my top 10, 6 movies would have still been in my top 10 had this been open to all 80s movies. That means only 4 movies from the original 100 would have bumped a movie off my top 10.

I have a list of ~190 movies from the 80s.

I have ranked ~145 unique movies excluding the initial top 101.

Ill paste my entire list here, sorted alphabetically with the 101 ranking included (mine excluded). Please note there are a number of movies left off which I am sure are great, just that I havn't seen them or didnt like them.

Let me know who is compiling or how we want to do this

Code:
Title Top 101 (if exists)

What I plan to do is take the top 60 from each of us, and #1 from each list gets 60 points down to 1 point for #60. Then I will rank based on total points. Not sure what the guys did in the other thread.

Sent my list to @shuke

This is honestly shuke's countdown and his decision, but I thought it was him, Lambskin, and Scoresman doing a lighter look at this. I don't think it was for us, bro.

I could be wrong, but that's how I take it. just letting you know how I see it.

Am I allowed to participate and turn in a list of 60?

List is on it’s way to him…..soon.

I'm not too fond of excluding people and it's not my call, but to be honest, the more that participate, the more this will just be a clone of an IMDB top 80s movies list.

I didnt exlude the 101 list. Though I did include their ranking as to identify. I can always reformat, but my gut tells me @shuke is a master of the XLS and can easily filter on blanks.

Gonna be a hard time compiling as you cant really sort the movies alphabetically to normalize them. Depends on how folks typed them in, use of 'The', etc, etc. Gonna take a little time. Folks might consider sharing a google sheet which people can put their rankings in.
