I know that some owners -- aka the ones who weren't savvy enough to pick up rookie Marques Colston after week one -- will argue that it's unfair to start him as a TE even in eligible online leagues: My money leagues use Yahoo and EA Sports (which has worked great, by the way) to run operations, and both list him as a WR/TE. There are always a couple of two-position guys like this in fantasy football and baseball. Every year. They just aren't always productive, so they don't draw much notice. And, the fact is, Colston started out being looked at as a TE by NFL teams, despite the fact he played WR at Hofstra. So I have no ethical problem starting him at TE. It's just another Shark Move, baby. At first, I was a little concerned about whether he's a stronger start than Antonio Gates. But, right now, I've got LJ Smith benched in one league and Gates in the other. Colston is an every-week starter in my mind as TE -- THE No. 1 fantasy TE for 2006.
Thoughts after three weeks? Is Colston going to finish with the top TE numbers for 2006? I know this is a "controversial" topic for some owners. But loopholes are loopholes. Slither through them if you can!
1. Colston
2. Winslow
3. LJ Smith
4. Gates
5. Shockey
