:(

Same number of wins as the division leading Indians!

Zack Greinke is the next Roger Clemens. We just need to keep his spirits up

Well, good effort guys. Took one of three from the mighty blue jays. Sometimes we're gonna run up against a juggernaut like that though.

Here to show some AL Central love. George Brett was a stud. ;) Thanks for MacDougal as well ;0))) big win for ChiSox after losing last night. 2/3 from A's in Oakland is solid.

I will be visiting regularly.....

We need a W for Meche tomorrow in BAL. he has to be a stopper after a night like tonight in TOR where we lose another close one.

What's the story with Gordon? What does he have so far -- 1 hit? Any worries?
two hits sir!Not worried....yet. Guy has skills. I hope they are patient with him. Offense really needs to get going though.I've been pleasantly surprised by the pitching. Greinke looks great. Meche is like the old Meche. Perez is the only one disappointing.

Missed the game tonight but it looks like Meche pitched well again. Offense continues to struggle as we can only put up 1 run on Steve freaking Trashel.

This team could be fairly competitive if the hitting comes around. The pitching looks fantastic. Of course, Odalis goes today :fishy:

Agreed...Meche + Greinke are no Randy/Schilling, but they are better than people know.I, as did many national media people, projected KC to be a top6-7 offense in the AL. You look at Dejesus, Sweeney, Teahen, Gordon, Shealy, heck even role players like Brown and Gload --- this team will hit. They cannot be thsi bad all season, can they?

No, they can't. And they won't. Look at the pitchers they've gone up against: Schilling, Beckett, Dice-K, Burnett, Bedard, Bonderman, etc. They've gone up against some of the best pitchers in the AL. It'll get better. They've had some less than stellar games against Trachsel, etc, but these guys will hit.Oh, and for all the hype around Gordon, I'll be cool with him hitting .275, 10-15 dingers, and play good defense.

Nice win today on a getaway day in DET. Buck, Teahen, Gload with big hits. And Soria comes in for the 9th and 10th like a vet.

I thought from Day 1 Soria could be the closer after Dotel. Dotel may never get that chance.

Now, we have to build on this vs. MIN and CHI.

Nice 4-3 win @ MIN, that is now 3/4 so far vs. MIn this season and 4-3 in the last 7 games for KC.

Maybe things are picking up some....

Dejesus and Teahan are heating up

De La Rosa, Meche, etc are keeping us in games

Soria, for the most part, has been a solid closer.

We have to get Gordon, Shealy on track and get better performances from Riske and Peralta in the 'pen and we may be a 75-win team

And the Billy Butler era begins in 2 hours...man if the Royals had a friggin bullpen they would be MUCH better.....probably 5-6 wins better.

This will be fun. And OF of Teahan-Dejesus-Butler has the potential to be studly.

Well, and if Grienke hadn't officially imploded

Greinke moved to the 'pen.In deep/AL-only leagues I think he could be worth hanging on to if there's very little else on the waiver wire, but in your standard 12-14 team, 22-24 man roster league, you're probably better off picking someone else up. He's been unlucky, but he's also been pretty bad since his first two starts. I managed to deal him a week ago, so I feel extremely fortunate right now.

a 6-4 roadie ..... surprised no one has chimed in here.

Royals are not a horrific team right now....only a couple games back from some rather notable franchises.

Shealy is heating up...Teahan has been hot for 4 weeks.....Gordon has now hit in 5 out of 7....getting Dotel back tonight.....things are looking better in KC.

Now a homestand with CLEV, SEA and BAL....if they can be over .500 in the 3 series' I think some people will take note.

WOW.....nobody talking about KC.....set to have first winning month since 2003.....just swept LAA in LA when they were 29-10 @ home. KC is 13-11 in June and play the Chi Sox this weekend.

WOW.....nobody talking about KC.....
What's to talk about? They're in last-place, 13.5 games out. That's a popular topic now?
Nothing to talk about for casual fans.......but for those who follow every team, there is a lot to talk about with this team. Sorry you are blind to that fact bud.
:lmao: right. die-hard baseball fans are all standing around right now talking about the royals.
:sigh:They have 2 of the best young players up in the bigs right now (Butler and Gordon) and outside of Upton, I'd take my chances with either of them over any of the young players the Rays have.

Where did I say people should be talking about the Rays? ps: you would take butler over crawford? :wall: And as much as I respect your obviously vast baseball knowledge, I don't think there were too many prospect sheets out there with Butler ranked over Delmon Young. In fact, I'd guess zero.pps: You're not also a Royals fan now too, are you? Kind of bad form to bandwagon an entire division.

Crawford's young? He's been in the bigs for like 5 yearsPS: Mets beat the Cardinals last night. Did you cry and cheer at the same time?

He's 25. Butler isn't anywhere near as good of a prospect as Delmon is either. But, I know your baseball knowledge is limited at best, so we won't go any further.
PS: Mets beat the Cardinals last night. Did you cry and cheer at the same time?
you can try to pigeonhole this in as many times as you want. but the facts are:a) you're not funny. b) I wasn't a fan of either. c) you were a "die-hard" fan of another team and left that team to root for somebody else about to win a title. carry on.

A. Last time you said that about 3 people chimed in laughing at my comment. I'll guess you're wrongB. That's what all bandwagon fans say. I'll guess you're lyingC. The White Sox were about to win a title in Jaunary of 2000? I'll be damned. Could have sworn they didn't win it until 2005

As for Young vs Butler.

Sure Young's been the #1 prospect in baseball, but Butler is no slouch. Commonly top 25 over the last 2 years. Minor league #s are quite comparable.

I'd give Young the edge in speed / D, Butler the edge in attitude.

Top-25 isn't really in the neighborhood of the #1 prospect, but I can see what you're saying. I'd consider Taurean Green over Greg Oden tonight as well, because he has a better attitude.

Yes Cappy, you're the first person to tell someone their not funny.

Kinda strange that they didn't start Gathright tonight. RHP on the mound, and the strong armed Yadier Molina is still out. Seemed like the perfect opportunity to toss him in the lineup for some small ball.
