The Official Dallas #1 pick thread... (1 Viewer)

Well, considering the current state of the Browns QB position, if management felt Brady Quinn is the real deal, and he pans out and is a franchise QB, its worth this trade. It could be a win-win here, who knows.

and a couple of other teams are going to give the Browns a serious run for their money for the #1.

i don't see how anyone can take the #1 away from atlanta. talk about QB play. harrington threw 2 td passes, too bad they were both to the other team. then you have his back-up. the dude hasn't even played in 3 years.

ATL has some decent talent and Harrington will "not lose" a couple of games. Oak and KC are decent enough to win several games ... neither team has a bad defense and their offenses should improve as the year goes on. TB had injuries that didn't help assuming neither are serious (Garcia, Caddy) I would expect a few wins. Miami is a good team maybe not playoff good but not in this category. That leaves Detroit who may be a playoff sleeper. Cleveland really may run away with the #1 pick for Dallas as their OL is so poor I can't imagine Quinn can step right in and be a huge upgrade.

Ugh...I forgot about TB...those guys suck.

But to be an equal opportunity realist...speaking of suck...Dallas D anyone? Oi Vey!

McFaddenJulius Jones sucks, the only purpose for him is to give Barber some rest
 It is so painfully obvious. Why can't the coaches see it. He is going to be a free agent, we wont re-sign him, why not give MB III the chance to show what he really has. Maybe we are all missing something.

 Please don't buy the hype. Detroit has not managed to win more than 6 games in a single season in the last 6 years. They are extremely unlikely to be even sniffing the playoffs.Every other team on that list above (except KC) picked in the top 10 last year, and easily will be picking there again. Cleveland is bad, but there's easily more than one team in the running here.

15-1 is what I'm believing, giving the Cowboy's the 32nd (or 31st pick, depending on NE) pick in the draft. Sorry Cowboy fans. Oakland, up next!

I'm thinking 13-3 now
This pick is not going to be nearly as high as we thought earlier in the season. I'm thinking it will end up somewhere between 10-15. Will be curious to see if Jones takes Best Player Available with both 1st round picks, or does he bundle and try to trade up.Either way, as Cowboy fan, the trade still makes me happy.

I'm thinking more of the 20th to the 25th pick range, but I agree it was a good trade for both teams and Dallas would do well if they traded up or took BPA with both picks.Cleveland has a bye now and a pretty soft schedule. They have no major injuries and and Tucker just came back to add depth to the o-line. Add to that the fact that after the bye week, they could get another boost to the o-line in pro-bowler LeChuck Bentley and a boost to the secondary in Gary Baxter and a play-off appearance is looking more certain than possible.

Still unlikely to sniff the playoffs? And the funny thing about all this is that Dallas fans are going to be upset with two late first round picks. They should be happy with that even if it means they don't have any chance of getting McFadden... but they won't be. Losers. Two first round picks, especially later picks with lower salary cap prices are golden.

Some pretty bad predicting and use of smilies in this thread.

The Browns and Lions will be :lmao: all the way into the playoffs this year.

I also love all of the early season KC predictions. People often forget that defense is part of football, too and can win you games just like offense...but then again this is a fantasy football website.

Tap the brakes a bit holmes.

I would suggest to Browns fans to not count their chickens before they hatch. It's a young team, the wheels can fall off at any time and before you know it you are in a death spiral. I do hope they make the playoffs though!

We're not getting ahead of ourselves. Nobody has uttered the term Super Bowl contenders. But it's pretty clear that the remaining schedule is about as easy as it gets. Optimism is OK, especially in such a pessimistic city.
