The Official Matt Flynn Thread (1 Viewer)

Guess the Packers made the right move not franchising Flynn.
Im guessing he means that teams have not been falling over themselves to give up big money for him...they likely would not have been that willing to part with high picks to get him and then negotiate a contract too.
You get it. Saber tooth is a little slow.
We really know nothing of the sort. The only thing we really know is a lot of teams wanted to see if they could get Peyton Manning first. Once that shoe drops, it's plausible there could be a bidding war for Flynn.
Bidding war?OK, seattle and Miami are out of the manning fiasco and cleveland isnt even bothering. these teams would all rather draft a guy then spend money on Flynn. so whats the hold up? bidding war? LOL H
It's nice that you can help us all out with all your FACTS...Like you know for sure who is actually interested in Flynn and who is not. All we really know is he visited Seattle, and Miami is next.

seriously KT, why hasnt he been gobbled up yet? seems to me a stud QB in waiting wouldnt be on the market for 5 days of free agency

I hadn't heard that re: Marino, but not surprised. That, when added to the Fisher-then-Philbin process, looks like if the Fins have any success at all, it will be in spite of that braintrust.
Not to mention the Harbaugh/Sporano gaffes last year. Tuna was right to jump ship when he did, this is just a mess.

Its obviously a bad year for the qb market(outside manning) with the influx of rookies or otherwise you wouldn't see orton/campbell/henne signing such short cheap backup deals so quickly. Its not helping Flynn that aside from tannenhill still out there many seem to be high( I have no clue why) on cousins and weeden. Add now that hoyer can be had for 2nd and likely cheaper cntract. Then the likes of Vince young and Dennis Dixon are there for pennies on the dollar. The market is just flooded or inflated. Of all the vets and rookies left available I'd like to see a team give up a 2nd and give hoyer a shot

Peyton Manning has been a free agent longer than that. I truly believe every team that could be in need of a QB had to see what their chances were with Peyton first. I also think Flynn very much wants to go to a WCO. It makes sense anyway. Lessens the chance that he flops year 1 like Kolb. I don't think he's a stud QB in waiting in any other system. But I do think he could be a very good starter for a team running the WCO. I think you also have to consider the team that he's probably the best fit with is Miami. Their front office and ownership are not exactly making all the right moves as of late.

If the money was equal I would choose Seattle over Miami. Seattle has more weapons and I just have more faith in Darrel Bevel than Mike Sherman.

per Schefter:

Filed to ESPN: Matt Flynn has agreed to terms witj Seattle on a 3-yr contract worth up to $26M w/$10M guaranteed.

Depending on what the incentives are in that deal, it could be a great deal for the Hawks.

Although, I do think Flynn sucks.

3yr/$26m vs 2yr/$12m...Miami made it pretty easy for Flynn...the picture of him in the car yesterday leaving Miami facilities was all I needed to see...he looked shocked in a bad way.

Miami wouldn't pony up for Drew Brees, lowball Flynn, this organization is brain dead.

What the hell is deal with Miami low-balling QB's? I was sure they had learned their lesson after the Brees debacle.
