The ***Official*** Perfect Season Celebration Thread (1 Viewer)

Not as Pats fans or haters...but as football fans we should celebrate the achievements of this great, great football team The New England Patriots. They've played some tough opponents, and had some close ones... but their resilency, professionalism and talent was enough to overcome the A games of a number of football teams. It might be awhile before we see this type of season again...so let's all enjoy it.

Amazing season. Only problem is that they will be sort of a joke or at least an afterthought if they don't win it all. If they win it all they will have deserved it more than probably any other champion because the pressure to go undefeated will be a part of this run. I think they have their work cut out for them as they will play the three best teams they will have played all year in the playoffs. I think the Colts can beat them at New England but other than that, I wouldn't bet against them.

Hello, Mr. Morris? Is this Mr. Mercury Morris?

Were not only on your street, we're the ones who just left that flaming pile of crap on your door step.

Thank God I don't have to listen to that idiot talk about football anymore.

Unless the Patriots lose.

You will be listening to Mercury until the Pats have the Lombardi in hand.

Classy post. After the season ends (no matter what the Pats' fate is), watching 16-0 happen will be something I know I'll remember for quite a while.

:goodposting:

Oh, he'll keep talking until the Pats with the SB, you can b assured of that. And when the Pats do win it, we'll leave another flaming pile of dung on his doorstep, and like the dope he is - he will once again step on it.

I can't help noticing that I'm running into far more Pats fans than I did in the early 90s.

Oddly enough, every one of them happened to be one of the 1,800 people in the stands back then.

Congrats to the TRUE Pats fans who actually did stick with the team through all those lean years.

Congrats Pats and Pats fans from a Packers fan. GL in the playoffs.
Big congratulations to the Patriots. They out-coached and out-played everyone. They won games maybe they should have lost, won after falling behind, won when they absolutely needed a play. All the things that true champions do. They deserve their perfect season. Congrats to the Giants also, for being a quality opponent and not handing it to them. But NE didn't just "not lose"; they went out and won their games. Awesome accomplishment. But Patriots fans? What should they be congratulated for? Buying jerseys? Sitting in the stands watching someone else accomplish something? Congrats on being a spectator who buys things? I'm not talking about just their fans specifically. That goes for all fans. It's nice that they're happy when their team does well, and it's nice that they buy things and make the team money. But really, they didn't do anything themselves. I'd tell them to enjoy the moment and, as a football fan, it's nice that fellow fans can enjoy something special. I'm happy that other football fans can be happy about a great season. But congratulate them when they didn't do anything and didn'tplay a role in any accomplishments? I don't get that. Sorry.

We had no choice, the Refs kept giving the Super Bowl to teams like the Raiders. Ben Dreith - WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY worse then any call made in the Snow Bowl. Oh, and I was there for that game too. Thanks BTW - there is no doubt we have more fans now, but there were a lot of us back then as well.

You'll find that to be true of many Red Sox and Celtics fans too. LA Dodger fans have NOTHING on the fairweatheredness of Boston sports fans, which is why they are so hatable.

I didn't realize the Pats won the SB today. An great feat accomplished today, but y'all haven't shut Mercury up yet. Still 3 games to win to top the Dolphin's perfect season. Pats are the first to go 16-0 in the regular season, but the Fins went through the regular and post seasons victorious.

Wait a minute.... Now I've heard it all in this place.... Are you actually trying to insinuate that RED SOX fans are fair weather???? You've got to be on drugs tonight... The team that choked in EVERY way possible for 86 freaking years and STILL had the most loyal fan base in the country?? Red Sox Nation existed LONG before the recent success, I can assure you of that.Might be the most idiotic post I've ever seen in here.

Robert Kraft (the owner of the Pats) is being interviewed on the nfl network and he is DRUNK!

Can't say I blame him.

I thought it was just me being drunk and hearing things. Glad to hear I'm not THAT drunk. :lmao:

Colin - I'm a big fan of yours for the most part. But this is easily the most ridiculous post you have ever made. Just stop for a minute and think about how stupid your comment about the Red Sox is for a minute.

Packers fans are considered some of the most loyal in sports. Oddly I was living in Wisconsin while they sucked into when they went to 2 Super Bowls in a row. Amazing that one year there were tons of kids wearing Cowboys stuff and a couple years later they hate those Cowboys and were lifelong Packer fans. Every team has them, some more than others, and some are more well known that others.

Give the Patriots their due. They won AT Indy, AT San Diego, AT Dallas, and AT the N.Y.Giants and AT Baltimore. They had to hang on against Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Must be the toughest schedule in the history of the NFL. Still...this Patriots team had to get some lucky calls and played the Colts WITHOUT Harrison. Congrats on a perfect season, but I doubt they make the Super Bowl, much less win it all...just another good season. Ask the '85 Bears.

Remind me never to have you give me a congratulatory toast :hophead: Like it or not, people will be talking about the Patriots for many years to come. They are now firmly ensconced in the anals of football history.

Colin never makes stupid comments. Does he?

The NFL is, for me, the best sport in existence. I love a lot of sports but football is where my passion lies; it's what brought me to Old Yeller and what led me to becoming friends with Joe and David and ultimately what brought me into the staff. It's what keeps me showing up to freezing cold games in December when the Eagles are eliminated from contention. :) It's what keeps me thinking "we'll get them next year" even when logically I see the Eagles window closing.

From that perspective, I can't express enough how exciting it's been watching the Patriots. To have them finish 16-0 and, in the same game, break the single season points mark, set a new NFL record for margin of victory, and to have Jerry Rice and Peyton Manning's marks go down in the same play was just astounding. I wasn't alive for the Dolphins perfect run; so for me this has truly been a once in a lifetime experience.

 to the Pats and their fans.
