The RISKY "STUD" RB Question (1 Viewer)

Cuts have been made in my upcoming keeper league (10 teams/keep 3) I was surprised to see MJD and Ryan Mathews not kept and this got me thinking, which of these guys is the safest pick in this situation? Which one will get healthy/in camp/etc and produce. Many of us could shark some great value in these situations, but which one?

MJD

Mathews

Richardson

MJD and Mathews were not kept? Were the owners who dropped them, Rashad Jennings and Ronnie Brown, respectively? What a horrible league.

It's a 10 team league and each team could only keep 3. So you would expect only the top 30 players be kept. There are probably better RBs for this year in the available player pool.

The RB pool is horribly shallow this year...I'd take a gamble on two RBs who could miss a few games and come back and be a top 10 RB over the RBBC uncertainties that flood the market now. I understand lowering their value, but people are undervaluing too much...the same effect Foster had last year when he injured his hamstring in the pre-season. The only explanation for this is if they had 3 other studs to keep instead.

That doesn't make it "a horrible league". Trent Richardson and Doug Martin are both going to be in the player pool, maybe these owners have early picks and want one of those rookies instead. A keep-3 league is a lot different from a dynasty league and has to be handled differently. It's much more of a "win this year" league where you can hold on to your favorite guys & draft day steals than a "build for the long term".

I know that...but win now teams would want MJD or Mathews. Build for the long term teams would want Richardson or Martin.

It seemed a little odd to me too. It is a league heavy on QB scoring, so 9 of 10 teams kept a QB. Some of the good guys dropped were from loaded teams. I didn't want this to be a thread about the league I am in, but more about where there value really is at this point, especially compared to guys like Bradshaw, Fred Jackson, Greene who are middle of the road, but no injury/holdout issues.

I like Richardson based on Original Post guy's roster.

He could be a keeper for next year over Felix Jones.

Players I assume he kept:

QB Brady

RB Ray Rice

WR ?Bowe/Britt?

I'd throw T-Rich in there or MJD or even DMart or Matthews.

I like long term of Trent

MJD...not so much w/ hold out but as a player who could be traded next year.

I like Matthews to come back this year even if he has injury issues.
