The season started early this morning. And the reaction? (1 Viewer)

Well they picked the right two teams for a game in Japan. Seatlle has a huge Asian fanbase thanks to Suzuki - and Oakland has a huge Asian population. Those two teams should play every year in Japan. It didn't bother me a bit - everyone knows it isn't really opening day until the Cardinals first game each year.

Until Selig is gone, I won't watch MLB or pay for any merchandise that has to do with MLB. What a crap product he's turned MLB into. It's embarrassing.

Lew Wolff can make more money with two home games in Tokyo than he would in Oakland

thanks to selig, et. al, you couldn't have watched today's game anyway.
I don't normally say this, but that was probably a smart move on Selig's part.Americans generally don't want to recognize the Japan game as the start of the season and really don't care about the game or the particular teams involved.May as well sneak it in, let the A's/Mariners make a little cash, pimp the game in Japan and let Americans ignore it. By the time real Opening Day comes around, they'll have forgotten that the whole silly ordeal took place, which is good.
