I'm kidding. WD will never die.

The Strain sounds solid though. The vampire thing doesn't sound terribly exciting, but the creators sound like they have enough hatred of the Twilight style of vampire to make me trust them.

"These are not sparkly brooding dudes with fangs and romantic problems, said Cuse. This is a really original re-imagining of vampire lorethere is sex in the show, but the vampires themselves are not having sex. They are not romantic creatures, believe me."

The cast sounds solid, and I can get behind Corey Stoll as the lead (Russo on "House of Cards").

Could be a big year for FX if this and Fargo both hit.

I read the books and they were pretty meh. But you can be confident in a faithful adaptation since del Toro was a co-author for the books and the intent was always to turn them into a movie/TV series.

Ironic since one of the actresses (Mia Maestro) WAS a vampire in the last two Twilight movies.

I've had a mega-crush on her since her time on Alias as Sydney's little sister, so I can forgive her.

That seems to be an interesting route to take (writing a novel series with the clear intent on selling it as a TV series). Does that happen often?

Is there anybody more overrated in the industry today than Del Toro?
He deserves a lot of credit for directing The Devil's Backbone & Pan's Labrynth (I also enjoyed Mimic but that is definitely a guilty pleasure).

However Blade II and the Hellboy films are awful, truly awful. In my book he is rated as average however I know when he is on he will deliver something truly special so I give him the benefit of the doubt.
