[Rec] I have seen multiple time and still fear getting to the last 10-15 mins. It starts slow, and is about a Spanish reporter staying at a firehouse for interviews when **** hits the fan.
I still have 7 more horror movies on my list. I watch a lot of them on my own, so they drifted to the top of my list. It is the last (only) found footage, so i will do a mini-list of those soon too. I am fan of the subgenre, but there are plenty of landmines too. They are the ones most likely to scare me.

I don't know if I've ever seen a found footage horror movie. Blair Witch was on at someone's house in HS or college but I remember hating the shaky camera stuff and just kind of writing it off as sucking but I honestly don't think I really paid attention enough to it to make a quality assessment. I was just kind of a db and was like "it's just a stupid marketing ploy, none of this is actually real".

There are some legit good superhero movies but they won't make the list since KP has a wierd adversion to them and cgi.

I probably wouldn't watch one myself, which is what my list was mostly about, and if i did, it would be odd ones like Kick-***, Super, or Watchmen. Iron Man, Spidey, Batman, and Cpt America were my favorite "normal" ones. I don’t like the DC movies or the spacey Marvel ones- GotG, Thor.

I am more likely to imagine myself in the situation vs a slick bigger budget horror, that's why the good ones really get to me. The best ones also have a decent reseaon the camera is there.

Sounds like you need to try one in Oct! I might have some suggestions for you.

I struggle with QT and I had anywhere from 0 to 3 of his movies on my list at any time. For this one the positives outweighed the negatives by a lot. There are a few scenes in this movie I would say are some of the best of the century, starting with the opening. His love of the silly shlocky violence will never click, and there are actors he likes to work with that I think are terrible. Now that I know it's coming and understand a little more where he is coming from with his nods to old movies, I seem to tolerate parts like the theater shooting a little more on rewatches.

I was just failing to make a joke but I like a fair amount of Cage movies. Other than the 2 (or 3) big ones from the 90's, I did think the National Treasure movies were decent and Gone in 60 seconds was a fun film. Never even knew Windtalkers was so not liked but I liked it so figures.

I don't cringe at any of his films that I've seen other than the Hateful Eight---huge disappointment. Very little of his witty dialogue mixed with his usual gratuitous violence. I can take the latter with the former, but not without. Not to mention that the majority of that gratuitous violence was aimed at the JJL character. I actually really disliked this movie.

As for Inglourious Basterds, I agree that the theater scene near the end was some revisionist history that was indulgent and not necessary.

Like 80's, I think the opening scene (one of my favorites ever) and the bar scene are fantastic. The strudel scene, and many of the others, elevate this movie into my top 100. Not to mention Christoph Waltz's performance throughout.

This is in my top 20. I don't have a single criticism. This is the one that should be on everyone's list. This is Bill Murray's best performance IMO. Scarlett Johannson is, well...also great. The soundtrack is awesome.

If you dislike this movie, I'm switching to beer.
