"The Warriors" Turns 40 (1 Viewer)

Was just listening to the Simmons Ringer Rewatchables podcast on this movie.  I'm still angered that he thought the Orphans scene went on too long.  DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET?! DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH THE ORPHANS!!!

I did learn from the podcast that the Warriors character Fox played by Thomas Waites was written out of the movie while filming. They threw his character on the train tracks and he's never mentioned again. Uncredited role.

I'm also mad at the podcast for saying Joe Walsh "in the city" was bad choice for ending credits.  I thought it was great.

The tune had an even more prominent role in the original ending.

Not sure what Swan saw in Lydia Cornell's sister from Too Close For Comfort.

Interesting backstory on the movie and its aftermath: can you dig it?
Now I don't know what to believe.  I had originally heard that the movie premiere led to violence all over the country.  Then about a decade ago, I heard someone (maybe the director) say that all the talk of the violence was overblown and they weren't even sure if the incidents had anything to do with the movie, or if they were just normal gang violence.  Now this article is saying it lead to violent attacks.

Which is it?

Like everything else, I'm sure the truth is somewhere in the middle.
