Overreacting, or sign of things to come this season??

ETA: Dang it! I did *not* say "There you have it"! I really don't like that mods come in and edit my posts.

I originally said: "Haynes = Goalline, Parker = Sideline" (which, on that play, was simply an observation). And then I asked the question posed above. "There you have it" makes me sound like I think it will be this way all season, which I don't necessarily think will be the case.

**************

Joe's note: Edited the title to reflect what happened. Parker took himself out at the goal line to take a breather. He was not pulled. Huge difference. People look to the Shark Pool for information and I wanted to make sure the title was accurate.

Pulled FWP 1st and goal on the 1 after he's looked great all day. Haynes in and Fumbleroo!

Glad I'm not a Willy owner. :banned:

Overreacting. Parker carried on 1st and 2nd down for 6 yards each, then raised his arm to signal to the sideline that he need a breather. Otherwise he stays in the game.

dont think so, willie raised his hand as if he needed a break......i think hes run well enough to get a goal line shot and he converted on 4th and 1 earlier

I saw the same thing with Parker lifting his hand to come out.

Of course, I would probably wanted Fast wille to suck it up only a yard from the paystation.

It's tough for some of them because they can't get any reception on the TV in their parents basements.
I don't often laugh out loud while sitting by myself reading message boards on the internet. This line is classic. definately sig worthy. Do you mind?

I think he was just taking a breather. Verron Haynes can't be any better the FWP on the goaline. If duce came out it would be another story.

Big season coming for FWP. Wish I had him in a few more leagues.

Ronnie Brown owners are in for a long season. Less than 3 ypc for Brown...yeah you Brown owners should be proud and talking trash on FWP. I would be nervous if I were you.

that fumble had nothing to do with haynes.
Agreed, the snap was bad or Batch mishandled it...FWP looked strong all game against a very good run defense. Ronnie Brown got shut down, in real terms. FFL wise he had 2 scores, but rest assured FWP will get his share during the season.Culpepper looked ok in some spots and just plain terrible in others. I would be worried if I were heavily invested in Maimi players this year...

On what earthly planet should Brown owners be "worried" about 62 total yds and 2 TD vs 1 of the best Ds in the NFL?

To the anonymous mod: Knock it off. I can post just fine on my own. If I say something offensive, then feel free to edit away. But until then, please go start your own thread. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
No one else addressed this so..... Weak Mod action IMO. Real weak.

FWP owner here...

I was very impressed with his performance tonight. TD or no TD. I think he'll be money this year, especially if if this game is one of his weaker performances.

So no one has a problem with your RB2 asking for a breather when its 1st and goal at the 1?

I have a huge problem with it.

I own both and am happy. This was a tough run D. not worried about Brown at all. If anything I think he did pretty good against the champs. (if you actually watch the game)

I agree that Parker took himself out but how can that not be a concern? I saw Edge do that a lot last year and it was frustrating.

The ones who are driven don't pull themselves out at the 1. They smell blood and go for it (see LT).

No doubt, Parker looked good tonight. That move (to take himself out) in a crucial situation, however, makes me question his heart.

Hopefully Cowher pushes him back on the field next time with a scowl.

That was a pretty long drive that started deep in Steeler territory and FWP was very active with several medium gain runs. If that drive ended up being one less play, FWP probably stays in at the one.

31 - Pittsburgh Rushing Attempts by RBs

29 - Parkers Rushing Attempts

He was clearly asking for a quick breather. Had Pitt recovered the fumble, you could very well have had a Parker TD - same with the Heath Miller should have been outta bounds, play.

Regardless, with a ratio like that, only a fool could watch this game and say Parker was pulled.

In fact, Pitt went to great lengths to get Parker rest on all the passing downs, as they didnt give their other RBs squat.

Just watched it again on Tivo . . . I did not see Parker raise his arm . . .

Tells me he was tired and was more concerned about the team than his own personal stats. Might not be what you want on your fantasy team, but it's what I'd want in an NFL RB.

Are you watching a different game, cause Parker was exhausted and raised his hand to come out.
not watching a different game - i said he's looked great all day. i SAID i hate it when my RB gets pulled on the 1!!!
He wasn't pulled.
ok and you know that for sure??? besides the point was i hate seeing my RB leave the field when on the 1 yard line!! what's so difficult to understand!?!?? :loco:

the last sentence makes no sense; Haynes always plays on passing downs because he's a better blocker . . . this is why Parker is out of the game, not becuase they want to rest him . . .
