Start 1QB PPR leagues.  How would you rank them?  I know there are others, but just want to get your opinion on these 10.  Here’s how I would.

1) Elijah Moore

2) Kenny Gainwell or Michael Carter

3) Michael Carter or Kenny Gainwell

4) Dyami Brown

5) Tamorrian Terry

6) Pat Freiermuth

7) Kadarius Toney

8] Zach Wilson

9) Trey Lance

10) Kylin Hill

But this is really early and so much would depend on their landing spot. Plus QBs in there. If you don't need one, how do you select one that high in a 1 QB league? I dunno...that's I'm just giving raw rankings right there without many reasons. Carter and Gainwell are very flippable, though Gainwell seems to be going around 1.10 in most mocks, with Carter falling to around the mid-2nd or little later. Did you check out the three-round FBG mock? It's here...

No, just those that people vote on.  Not a fan of them.   So many to choose from late 1st into the second, so I eliminated some players for simplicity.  Players like Wallace and St. Brown, who will go in the 2nd.....and others.

I can see Carter or Gainwell going before Elijah Moore for a RB needy team.  I don’t think there is a lot of value difference, but I could be wrong.
We are discussing two different things. I just think he's a 1st Round WR in the NFL Draft so if he falls into the 2nd and Miami Dolpihns take him at 36 and assuming he lasts, I would be excited from a fan's POV.

I also understand how that translates over to what you are saying. The Phins only have a 1 yr deal to Fuller and I don't believe he will see enough targets to make the $14M they gave him worth the money.  Parker is set to make $11M, follow me here...he can be released after June 1st for less than $3M...is Miami that mean with a former 1st Rd pick they took? They ripped up KVN deal after 1 year. I'm just saying they are spending $25M between the two of them so if Miami drafts a WR, I expect them to be the top WR as soon as 2022. And so all I'm saying is I see a clear path to starting here in Miami so tat might make me want Moore a little more in a fantasy format for long term.

Cheers Buddy

I think there is going to be some hard decisions to be made at the end of the first round of start 1qb leagues rookie drafts.  Does a RB needy team take either Gainwell or Carter, or do they take Elijah Moore?  I believe starting around 1.12 that decision will come up.  I highly doubt any of the 3 will go any higher.  Another good one to throw into this mix is Terrace Marshall.

I have a 1QB dynasty that's in much greater need at RB.  I'm pretty stacked at WR and can't afford to miss on a productive RB if he's there at 2.4.  Right now, the WRs that I would consider if they fall to that spot are Marshall (don't expect him to make it) and I'm warming to the idea of Elijah Moore.  I don't think my leaguemates are stupid enough to let Bateman or Rondale Moore fall that far, but I've been surprised before.   I need to be able to tell a story about how that guy can become a fantasy WR1 if he's a smash hit.   I don't think that story is there with the others, and a low-end WR2 or nice flex option isn't going to help my roster very much.

I think I'm Gainwell up top, Marshall, Carter, Jefferson, Elijah Moore.   Very open to the idea that Moore will surpass Carter and Jefferson.

Happy to scoop Hill, Freiermuth, or the QBs with a pick at the end of round 2 if they fall.

I think Gainwell is a 3rd down back and will NEVER be a bell cow RB.  Both he and Carter are smallish, but Carter has a thick lower body and plays closer to the ground.  Both are good receivers out the backfield (Gainwell is probably best at this).  Carter has everyone on vision.  It would be hard for me to take Gainwell over E Moore, but I may take Carter over Moore.  I'm definitely leaning Carter over Gainwell as of today.  Why would you rank Gainwell as high as you do, knowing that he will be a 5 to 7 touch guy that gets a few receptions?  I'm not saying Gainwell wouldn't have value in PPR, he wlll, but I hate the idea of passing on a WR that could be a stud or another RB that might get more touches.  Draft capital will be important here regardless.

I tend to see it like this as well. I have the 1.10, 1,12 and 1.16 in a 16 team, 1 QB league. It looks to me (team situations to have a great impact, but ranking just perceived talent now) like Bateman will be gone and probably Rondale and or Marshall available at 10. I think situation between those two. Then I'd like to grab EMoore and Carter at 12 and 16, but they will probably both be gone by 16. Looking then at Gainwell as a platoon back (situation dependent) or Wallace or Aman-Ra. I'm thinking about trying to give up the later two picks to try and move up to around 7 or 8. If I can, I'd probably be happier with Bateman or Waddle plus Rondale or Marshall than Maybe Rondale, Carter and Wallace (although depth is harder to come by in a 16).

I believe you have a real chance at Elijah Moore at 1.12, but probably not at 2.6.  You could get Carter at 2.6 however, but it is iffy.  I believe the 1.12 to 2.03 are the ideal positions for E Moore, Carter, and Gainwell, with an outside chance of Marshall being there at 1.12, who I would take over all of E Moore, Carter, and Gainwell.

I don't expect to find bell cow RBs 15 picks deep, but if I become convinced that Carter can be that, he will be the selection.   I'm actually not that far off between Gainwell and Carter.   Just seems like there might be more voltage with Gainwell, but his landing spot probably matters more than anyone.   I'm also probably guilty of penciling him in on an innovative offense that will get him all kinds of receiving targets when that might not be the case.   Is there a current NFL bell cow RB that's a good comp to Carter?   It seems like he might be more of a split backfield kind of guy, but that's usually the RB you get in the mid-2nd.   On pass-protection, I've heard everything from this being okay to him getting abused at the Senior Bowl.  Probably doesn't matter if he gets used the same way Gainwell does on 3rd downs, but if it's not in his repertoire, won't the average NFL coach send out someone with Gainwell's explosion to be a 3rd down read out of the backfield?

Marshall and E. Moore probably are the correct answers in a startup, but you asked if there might be RB needy teams that would pass on WR for Gainwell and I think I fall into that category.   AJB - Godwin - Ju Jones - Higgins - Sutton - OBJ - Ant Brown - Mims.    My RB depth chart doesn't look like that 🙂

Isn’t Gainwell already 22?  If he doesn’t play a lot for a couple of years that can’t be good for his dynasty value.  If a back is older coming into the NFL he better hit the field running.  See Ke’Shawn Vaughan.  He will be 24 in a month and he’s still irrelevant.  Same for Carter, he will be 22 in May.  Better hope he sees lots of opportunity early.  Javonte Williams is just 20.  Not that 22 is old, it isn’t, but if you don’t play a lot for a couple of years it is.

I am beginning to warm up to the idea of moving Dyami Brown up higher on my board, but there is such incredible depth at the wideout position that I feel you can wait, grab a player at another position, and circle around in Round 3 and still get a high-quality WR.  If you miss out on Gainwell/Carter, your RB options in Round 3 are going to be more limited.  I feel like there is a pretty steep decline after Jermar Jefferson/Trey Sermon/ (Chuba Hubbard?) in the 2nd Round to the next backs, Elijah Mitchell, Kylin Hill, Demetric Felton, Rhamondre Stevenson, Khalil Herbert.

So much, however, depends on the dynamics of your own team.  If you are set at QB or TE, you will want to adjust accordingly.

Of course, all of our rankings will change considerably after the NFL draft.

I can probably overlook age 22 and accept the "low mileage" tradeoff considering Pollard, Henderson, and Gibson have been clogging up the works.   I think you raise a good point with Vaughn, and he's probably a guy who has me skeptical of "jack of all trades, master of none" 2nd round rookie draft profiles.   I think Carter is a better prospect, but some similarities as far as being complete backs with good vision projected at similar spots in a rookie draft and somewhat lacking as far as standout measurables.   With that said, the complete book hasn't been written for Vaughn.   Ideally, I think you're getting the most bang for your 2nd round buck if you're in a position to scoop a WR.    However, socrates is also correct on the quality of 3rd round WR options that will be there.   Hence, I'm willing to take a flyer on Gainwell / Carter / Jefferson / Sermon / Hill at various points in the 2nd round, understanding that a high impact RB at the next level is unlikely.   But I also don't want to pass on a potential fantasy WR1 that falls to the 2nd, even if it's a position of strength.

My objective for most drafts is to not miss in the top tiers. Before knowing situations and draft capital I'd rather target the end of that WR tier (Marshall and both Moore's - maybe Dy Brown) then Freiermuth then the top QB's then look for guys like Sermon, Chuba, Stephenson, etc. a bit later when i'm more comfortable with a swing-and-a-miss. I think it'd take a Devonta Freeman sorta situation for me to consider pivoting to Gainwell late round 1.

I have the 1.12 & have been thinking Gainwell unless someone unexpected fell, but this thread has me warming on Moore. I am trying to move up from the 1.12 w/no luck
