PACKERS’ JOLLY FACES FELONY DRUG CHARGES

Posted by Michael David Smith on July 12, 2008, 10:39 p.m. EDT

Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Johnny Jolly was arrested this week in Houston on felony drug possession charges, the Houston Chronicle is reporting.

Jolly, who is from Houston and played at Texas A&M, was arrested July 8 for possession of at least 200 grams of codeine, the paper reports. He posted bail of $10,000.

Jolly started seven games for the Packers last season. He is recovering from a shoulder injury and has been very limited during off-season workouts.

Neither the Packers nor Jolly has made any public comment about the arrest.

I see Jonny and Laurence Vickers in da HOOD all da time.

They both went to Forest Brook high school and get there hair cuts at the shop i use to work at.

Lets say, they havent let money change anything, if anything it advanved alot of things about those guys.

They like SYRUP (codeine) out here in houston.

Jolly is a dumb$%*.....Why do these guys (Vick, the late T.Kiel, and Jolly) make it to the highest level of their profession, become a true success story, then behave like damn fools?.......This syrup epidemic is so sad, and truly based on ignorance. I just don't think the folks that drink this concoction realize how lethal codeine really is, much more potent than even cocaine. Which is why it is prescribed in small doses.

What an idiot.

Jolly, IMO, has the potential to be a pro bowl defensive lineman. Nearing a big fat extension, and he gets arrested.

In 2006, Terrence Kiel was arrested during practice for the possession with intent to sell prescription cough syrup for use in making syrup.Stories like these never cease to amaze me, but it's just dawned on me that it's not just about the money with people who do this kind of crap after they've already made it big. There's some kind of lifestyle element there, too. Some kind of allure or something. It's just sad and bizarre.People like this who could be leading in their communities and helping pull them up are just dragging them further into the filth.

i agree, really if you look deep into the HOUSTON mentallity, SYRUP has killed alot and i mean ALOT of our so called young on the rise stars that come into a high sum of money.Im glad Vince hasnt been caught up by this yet....I can say Vince does have high morals and was raised in the chruch. Plus he has always had some strong role models or awhile....alot of the other NFL guys are guys that look up to guys in the streets, if you deep alittle deeper you will see T.Keil was in a attempted robbery in Greenspoint mall in houston, WHY cause he rolling around town in Houston on some rims there call 30spoke elbows which people been killing people for for the longest. But since he have the money he wish to keep it HOOD. Same as Jolly he has the same rims, 6 of them to be exact to be on his convertible syrup colored car. I know cause i see them here and there. But its sad, if you can get the chance to make it out you should try and stay on the right course and show others how to do better.

Two questions about "syrup":1 - Didn't it kill both Pimp C and DJ Screw?2 - If so, why do I know that?
