Things you do that annoy people in your house (1 Viewer)

I'm a pretty clean person overall, but one thing I suck at is fully cleaning the sink/counter after I trim my beard. Those little bastards can fly and I never end up cleaning them all.

I put all empty (used) cups in the dishwasher. I tell them to put them on the kitchen table if you are still using them.  Do they?  No.  They put them on the counter right next to the sink.  I see that, they are going in the dishwasher each and every time.

This one is shared responsibility, but my youngest (14) and I love to argue.  We'll argue anything, and I will take a side I don't agree with just to argue with him (my favorite was when he told me he had argued in study hall with another kid on who was better, LeBron or Jordan.  He took Jordan's side, which I would have, but we argued about the arguments he made).

It drives my other son and wife crazy.  They are both anti-confrontation, but my youngest and I thrive on it.

I have another.  I don't know why, but I have some issue with closing cupboards in the kitchen, and drawers in my dresser (but strangely not drawers in the kitchen).  I won't even realize it, but my wife will come behind me in the kitchen and close all the cupboards.  I don't even realize I leave them open.  She'll say something and I'll look over and every single one of my drawers on my dresser is open.  This is a lifetime habit.  As a kid I had a taller dresser, and it would fall over all the time because I'd leave the drawers open and the weight would pull it forward.

I respond to what my family members actually say, not necessarily what they actually meant. Drives them nuts. I don't do it intentionally. It's almost robotic sometimes. Just some part of my brain skips the part where it probably should determine if what they said was exactly what they meant. Kids get their words mixed up, ends up in a dumb argument. I try to be careful and cognizant of it with my wife since English isn't her first (or even second) language, but I inevitably fail and it comes across as mocking, sarcastic, or argumentative. Oh, well.
