Thinking ahead at the RB position (1 Viewer)

My dynasty bench has a slew of these RB's. Good thing is we have until the start of pre season to evaluate each players situation before reducing our roster to decide who to keep.

RB"s stashed in order of value at this stage:

A. Bradshaw- another Jacobs injury away from taking over??? or RBBC at worst

A. Hall- Shanny already stated that Young will NOT be a feature back, Hall could be the next RB on the Bronco revolving door

B. Jackson- also has looked good with improved GB line and a high draft pick. Grant has looked great but he would not be the first late draft RB one hit wonder

M. Moore- depends on what team he lands on, could end up in a 2 man RBBC

JJ Arrington- longshot but has bright spot with the coaches and Edge fading away

I have Hall stashed in every dynasty hoping as well.Would not be surprised if they let Taylor go and give MeMo a share much like Taylor had.Arrington is miserable.

Bump in a week and I'll let you in on mine.
Do a little homework on Pitt's Gary Russell. Parker is replaceable.Note-only for dynasty/deep keepers.
I have been waiting for Russell as well. Figured he would have gotten some action with FWP out, but to no avail.
He was out of football for a year, so probably out of shape. Add to that he was academically inelligible, so w/o any facts or backstory, I'm assuming he's not all that smart and may take at least a year to digest the playbook. What I did see was a guy that looked to be the most instinctive runner on the Steelers squad in preseason. FWP was obviously the fastest, Davis the most powerfull and Davenport the best pass-blocker. If Russell can learn to be a servicable blocker, he did look to me like the best 3 down back of the 4. That is the reason that l listed him as a dynasty prospect, 'cause he may take more than just one year.

Arrington should be thankful he makes the Cards in 2008. He will be replaced this offseason as far as his duties as backup RB.

James will be replaced sooner rather than later, but it won't be Arrington. I think AZ replaces the backup RB's before they replace Edge. A name may be Julius Jones. If not, they will draft a RB somewhere Rounds 2-4 in a RB heavy class.

Derrick Ward - Is a FA this coming season and showed enough to warrant carries on some team.

A.Bradshaw - Should enough to have the giants focus on a 2 back system, Droughnes should see his exit and Ward should be resigned elsewhere.

N.Davenport - Ran well in Parker absense, remember Parker is a nobody to a superstar, very easy to wash out of the league. Previous versions of this type of player can be said with Lamar Smith, Kareem Abdul Jabaar, Mike Anderson, etc.

Jerious Norwood - He may have fallen off the radar, but should be highly considered. He has jukes/cuts AT TIMES that look Barry Sanderish

Darius Walker - Very longshot, but everything seems choatic for the running game situation in Houston.

Leon Washington - Very big longshot, but in standard performance leagues he outperformed T.Jones from his ST points. He is too small too even be a feature back, but at the season end they were using him a tad more in the game scheme.
With the Texans cutting Echemandu I'd say Walker is a good pickup in very deep leagues.

Deeper league - I wasn't that impressed with Keith so I'm grabbing Dawson on the off chance that the Colts agree with me and I get Addai's backup.
I agree that Keith only looked good because it is a great situation to produce. He was not impressive to me and it had nothing to do with his tipped pass. How about Ricky with Brown being out for a little while? :brush: Just trying to find someone that nobody has mentioned...

Those are awful comparisons. None of those guys had anything close to Parker's speed. Smith and Abdul-Jabbar never rushed for 1200 yards in a season, something Parker has done three straight years.Parker's the real deal.
I think he meant the comparisons for Najeh, not Parker.

I know you all need to look everywhere, but the Texans situation will, IMO, be resolved on Day One of the draft. They still have Ahman Green under contract, right? I see a split backfield out there in '08 regardless of whatever happens. It is the vogue of the league and it is rife in their division to used two backs all game long.

If Norwood is on your WW, I see no way you can't grab him over the other options mentioned. And, IMO, Michael Bush will be the starting RB in Oakland in '08

In re: the Broncos, this year especially, I advise you avoid the mess. It is simply too unpredictable with Shanny from what he will do June 30th to who starts in the last two preseason games to who he starts in week 4.

Finally, whether or not Turner leaves S.D., jump on Sproles.

I think you're reading that wrong. He's saying to pick up Davenport for 08 because Parker can easily wash out of the league. (he's wrong, but we'll see)

Lamar Smith KAJ and Mike Anderson did not wash out of the league "quickly" and they run very much like Najeh, so we will have to wait for the hobbit to return to clarify that one. I think "this type of player" refers to Najeh, but whatever.

Mewelde Moore (MN) is a UFA and might get a shot somewhere next season. I'm sitting on him and A. Hall (DEN) and praying.
Please ........................................................................................................Mewelde Moore will be nothing more then 3rb on any team he goes to . You have a better chance with Mike Bell then Moore .
