Thinking of trading Peyton Manning (1 Viewer)

Da Guru

Fair & Balanced
My team is fourth overall in a 14 team league. I have a solid team, but a team I feel I can`t win the SuperBowl with.

Plus it looks like Tatum Bell is not going to be as good as I thought and I don`t trust Mike Bell at all.

I picked up Garrard and have Big Ben, both have favorable playoff schedules.

Has anyone traded Manning..and what did you get in return?

I am in the process of shopping Manning too, and am quite curious to hear what I might be able to get for him (I'm in a league where TD passes are worth 6 points)

I like Garrard, I think he'll be fine as far as fantasy points go. Pittsburgh is going to play better down the stretch as well so in a pinch Big Ben will give u decent fantasy points on good match up days.

I also think if you have both Tatum and MIke Bell, you're set at one of your RB spots. I trust Mike Bell if Tatum's out, he just had a tough match up last week.

I also think the Colts will wrap things up early again this year. Come the end of the season, you're going to start seeing threads again about "Will Peyton Manning play the entire game?" Will Peyton play the 2nd half?

Before that happens, you have 2 to 3 weeks to make a great deal. I don't know exactly who you have on your team........but I'd target someone with 2 good Rb's on their team and struggling at QB. You'd probably be able to wrestle the stud RB away from him with Peyton Manning. While your at it, maybe toss in a wide receiver that's like a NO. 3 and make it a 2 man deal and try and upgrade and get his NO. 2 WR.

So something like Peyton Manning and Terry Glenn for Steven Jackson and Donald Driver.

I traded J Walker and Gradkowski, Bruce for P Mannning 2 weeks ago in one of my PPR Dynasty league.

Of course Walker scored 3 touch down and over 40 points against me last week ...

but still not enough for his team to beat mine :)

I too am shopping manning, I am looking for top notch future guys, ala McFadden, or SPiller.. maybe lundy

just recieved an offer of Maroney for Manning and Colston... thinking about it

I was just offered Peyton and Westbrook

for

Larry Johnson and Phillip Rivers

in a keeper league

seriously considering it ..................

Redraft league I offered Grossman, Frank Gore & Cotchery for Manning & 2 scrubs to a team in serious need of RB & WR help and was turned down.

I was offered Manning for Westbrook in a ppr redraft league. I've considered countering with Rudi but Mannings playing time in the playoffs has me concerned. I'm leaning toward just sticking with Kitna.

Tough one, depends on scoring and how many starters in each position.

I just traded FOR Manning in a start TWO QB league.Essentially it was Manning for Palmer & Norwood
Who makes these trades?? The Bengals offense is in a huge slump, it's national sports news. Norwood, please. The only thing that trade has going for that guy is that Manning might be not playing as much down the stretch if they're record is perfect or close to it where Palmer and Co. might be fighiting and scoring for their lives. Still, that's a lot of projection to make at this point.

Two weeks ago I gave up Portis, Ward, Grossman for Manning, Stallworth.

My other WRs are Steve Smith, Reggie Brown and Moose.

Depending on who your other RBs are, I don't think I like that trade. Grossman and the Bears offense looked horrible and their schedule gets harder this 2nd half of the season not easier.

Why does it depend on MY RBs if you think I'm getting the better deal? The team getting Portis has a decent backup QB, equal or better to Grossman and had Tatum Bell and Caddy (Portis was a big upgrade)They also had Santana Moss and hardly any good, heatlhy WRs, so Ward was a big upgrade. The team getting Manning also has Alexander and C.Taylor, so giving up Portis was not a huge mistake (unless that team misses the playoffs  )

I am leading my division (but only 1.5 games from being out of the playoff hunt). I have both Manning and Vick.

I was just offered Larry Johnson for Manning & Kevin Jones.

As a Willis McGahee owner, I am seriously considering doing it.

i cant believe how cheaply most of you guys are landing Manning

In any of my leagues, if one of these trades happened i would be borderline shocked

I am currently considering offering the following, although I have been unable to connect with the other owner as of yet, he's out of town:

Trade - P. Manning, S. Alexander & C. Henry

Receive - D. Brees, S. Jackson & #1 pick 2008.

We keep 5, no more than 2 any position and I currently have Edge, Leon Washington, M. Jones-Drew, A. Boldin, M. Colston & R. Wayne on my roster also. QB's get 6 pnts for TD's and TD pass yardage bonuses, plus incremental "total yards passed" bonuses.

I think it's a good offer, and one which I'm willing to expound on if he sees something else he likes.

What'cha think?

I wouldn't do that. Brees will eventually come down to earth, while Manning will continue to perform at an extremely high level. Plus, I don't think Jackson is all that great. I'd rather keep Manning with an injured Alexander.

No effing way you make that trade!

I know it seems crazy, but the Trade Dominator says my overall scoring average would increase by +8 PPG.Then again, my opponent's scoring average would increase by +5 PPG, and I don't want to help him that much.

I guess I should have qualified it by saying its a dynasty league.

4 Weeks ago I traded Manning, A Green and Morency for Westbrook and TJ. 12 Team/4 Pt per QB TD. That said I also had E Manning on my roster as I made a bold (and crazy) move to draft both Peyton and Eli in the first 5 rounds because I had a hunch this was going to be a tough year for QBs. That said, if I held out one more week I problably would have done a little better.

Petyon has blown up (as I would have expected), A Green has been good when healthy and Westbrook and Hous have been good too, so far both teams have done well.

I just traded Manning, DFoster, and NYG D/ST

for

Steve Smith and JAX D/ST

My team after the trade:

Tom Brady

FWP, Ahman Green, Mike Bell, Najeh Davenport

Steve Smith, Marques Colston, Chris Chambers, Keyshawn, Tim Carter

Shockey

JAX D

Nate Kaeding

In a dynasty league, I gave up Brady, Morency, Herron and Randy McMicheal to get Peyton. The owner has Ahman Green and was probably getting tired of Green being probable and then not playing and Morency had a big game then Herron had a big game, then I made the big offer and got Peyton.

Update: I got the guy to accept Vick/KJ for LJ. Vick wasn't even starting for me (I have Peyton and Brees) so this amounts to a major upgrade at RB for me.

That appears better anyway. I like KJ nearly as much as LJ the rest of the way for what it's worth!

I wish I could get Manning as cheap as some of you are. I have offered a lot in the past and always get turned down. I'm just going to stick w/Grossman & Hass this year and try for Manning in the offseason.

In the league where I own Manning I would never let him go for most of the junk some of you are.

In a dynasty league, I traded Thomas Jones and my first round pick in 2007 for Peyton Manning and his second round pick.

With the Pats losing, the Colts look like a lock for the top seed. Lots of rest week 14, 15, 16 for manning! =)
Not a lock yet. Chargers and Ravens are 7-2 and the Colts don't have a TB advantage (or disadvantage) over either of them. Broncos are also 7-2, but the Colts do have the TB over them with the win in Denver.

Peyton Manning is one of the 5 most valuable dynasty players due to the long career of QB's and the relative safety of him being a top 3 Qb every year, even while taking some weeks virtually off at the end of the season.I could make the argument that's he the #1 player to get in a new dynasty league. That is an awesome deal.

I don't really think I could refuse, because my other quarterbacks are Farve, Culpepper and Vince Young. Culpepper may never get back, Farve will retire sooner than later and the jury is still out on Young.

Now you can shop any/all of them - although CPep won't get you much. Manning and some IDP have been the only reason the dynasty team I inherited 4 years ago did much for a few years. He's the man.

I would have turned you down too.
That team is now in danger of being eliminated from the playoffs after getting destroyed last week - they just offered me this same trade they turned down last week (Grossman/Gore/Cotchery for Manning). I'm mulling it over but will probably pass at this point.
