BOSTON - Police say a man was brutally beaten by a Yonkers bar patron who questioned his allegiance to the Boston Red Sox.

Yonkers police say two men from Pennsylvania were arrested on assault charges in the attack on Carlos Ortez.

The 25-year-old carpenter was in New York to work on a construction project in a Manhattan hotel.

He was watching a Red Sox-Angels playoff game with co-workers at a bar. Another patron asked them if they had pride in Boston.

That man and two other people followed the construction workers out of the bar.

Police said they attacked Ortez after he parted ways with two colleagues. The assailants fled after Ortez' co-workers returned to help him.

Ortez's employer says he is in the intensive care unit at Westchester Medical Center. He's nursing multiple facial fractures.

You don't understand how bad it is because you've never lived someplace nice. Trust me, Yonkers sucks, and I've lived in some bad places.

I thought this thread was about Eric Byrnes stealing second in the ninth inning tonight with the Diamondbacks in total control of the game.
4 runs in Wrigley with that lineup?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, as evidenced by all the offensive success they've had in the series...ESPECIALLY against that scrub Valverde.
:) :lmao: Thanks for the laughs...I needed some after that debacle.

We over here in the States have been critical of Europe's soccer hooligans, but the fact is that our own fans of major sports have engaged in more and more of the same or similar behavior over the last 10-20 years. It's getting out of control and it's a shame because I'd love to take my kid to see sporting events live.
