the original is one of my favorite movies of all-time, regardless of genre. Groundbreaking, insightful and so smart and funny. And I am a huge fan of all the Christopher Guest mockumentaries that came later.
Based on that, I am not holding out high hopes for anything close to as good as the original - like many really good things, it was of it's time. Regardless I will see it and likely will find some spots that make it worthwhile.

I've only seen some clips of it, but it looks great. I especially liked their appearance on Jimmy Kimmel where they looked every bit their age (77-81 years old). I thought Christopher Guest's eye black was an especially nice touch. Mocking the aging rock stars trying to look younger and hipper.

On board with all of this. Absolutely love the original, but have low expectations for the sequel. I will undoubtedly still see it, although want to hear some feedback first from those who have seen it and also love and appreciate the original.

Saw it last night. It's what you expect for the most part, don't go in expecting the heights of the original. It's a nostalgia trip that's basically an hour of the original guys riffing followed by a 10-15 minute concert. Handful of LOL moments interspersed throughout a pleasurable trip to our youth. Nothing special, but worth seeing if you have the time to kill. It has moments.

not sure if this is meant for me, but the good news is I’m on vacation for the next week. The bad news is I don’t see it playing anywhere near where I am. Ugh!
