This is the worst weekend of the year. (1 Viewer)

It's the dead weekend before the start of the NFL season. Preseason week 4 is useless, and over by the weekend anyway. So now we are all sitting here, waiting, forced to watch rain-delayed college football.

I hate this weekend. I got my new shiny redraft toys and my rookies in the dynasty league. I want to see if holding Scott for 3 years will pan out this year. Will Foster start? Was it smart to trade Garcon for draft picks, forecasting the Manning decline?

We all have dozens of assumptions, projections, reaches, and guys we have been mainlining the cool-aid on all offseason. And we have seen some preseason glimpses of greatness (Kendricks, Brown) but as we know, the preseason hero is still a long shot. Yet we have invested in these guys, and damnit, we wanna know what's gonna happen!

I'm ready for the waiver wire darlings, the Vicks and Hillises and Colstons who are snatched up and win guys leagues. I'm ready for the smack talk, the joy of a long TD run and the horrible turn of fortune when that little yellow flag flies onto field followed by a holding call. Especially when it happens to my opponent!

Can't they just start a week early? The NFL held us over the barrell with the lockout mess, then gave us a couple weeks to catch up and see where the FA's were gonna land, then rushing through the preseason, it just FEELS like it should start now, doesn't it?

Crap. I'd drink a beer, but it feels inappropriate without some football. :wall:

gotta disagree.

College football is back!

I love FOOTBALL, and college it right on par with the NFL for me.

I'm quite ecstatic to have college football on. Before those guys become rookies they play in college. Love that we have some football even tho none if the guys who played yesterday are on my team. Cheer up gb, and have a brew. The pumpkin ales have hit the storeshelves so have a pumpkin and a smile...

That's fine. But unless you play FF with college players, unrelated to my post.Only complaining allowed in this thread :boxing:
Ok, but FF is only a small percentage of the reasons I watch football. I'm a football fan first. And college football is just fun. As a sports fan i find it hard to understand how people view college as just a "farm league" for the NFL. It is that, but its so much more.I understand your impatience to get the NFL season going though.

Turn in your man card.
+1
My point is I want a Football Beer. Not just an anytime beer. Plus, Man card? What is this, a Miller Lite commercial? Have a good season, bra.
Agree, calling you out for a man card when it is so obvious you were kinda joking and would have a beer if you wanted, shows the type of posters we have on this board.... Not very smart ones.

4 Days, 5 hours, 10 minutes til kickoff.. Just grab ahold of some nice ### & ####### for a few days, bite your lip and give it hell!!!!... we are on the home stretch lol

On a side note... lol...6 days, 22 hours, 35 minutes til Sunday Kickoff!!

This would be a hilarious commercial for Miller Lite or something... A guy whose friends tell him, "This isn't the only non-manly thing you have done all day"... pans to a guy crying because football season hasn't started yet....

MAN UP and HAVE A MILLER LITE (worst beer in my opinion)...

You don't have to wait for football season to start again before you can enjoy the refreshing taste of a cold Miller lite

lol

Agreed. Extremely boring day. College football was a tease yesterday. At least there's a game on now. Can't wait for Thursday and next Sunday!

it's labor day weekend... it's one of the best weekends of the year.. 4 day weekend for me, weather is nice... this is a great time to spend with family before next weekend's football-fest.

if you don't have family obligations it's still a great weekend to party, relax, etc.

I don't need football interfering with my holiday weekend.

best day to draft anyway is the saturday before the season starts... the nfl screwed that up a little with the stupid thursday games, but i can still be ok with drafting even with that one game completed.

I've got a 3-day weekend with a nephew birthday who I don't like, and my 3 and 1-year olds are both sick.So while this weekend would be fun normally, I would like the distraction of the NFL right now.
