Thomas Davis (1 Viewer)

I'm curious as to how Thomas Davis has looked in camp. Is he displaying some encouraging approximation of his vintage burst and agility? Is he even practicing? My thinking is that if he has miraculously regained his form, he could theoretically explode if Beason is forced to miss time with the Achilles injury. Thank you for all replies.

He looked pretty much back to form in the Miami game. He was everywhere.
He himself admitted after Saturday night that he was feeling rusty and not ready to go 4 quarters of "game speed" just yet. He has had all spring/summer to condition, yet game speed is different speed, like a boxing match, and it reminded him that he needs the next two weeks. At any rate, you can consider him pretty fresh as long as his knee holds up.

His knee got bend a lot of different directions and seemed to be fine. It has been a year since the last injury. The Panthers have him listed at SLB and I would put him on the other side but if he holds up has put up good numbers over there in the past.

i'm really surprised that he's back and effective. after consecutive season-ending injuries like those, it tends to rob a guy of his burst and/or speed. i thought for sure he was done for. good for him...

SLB?!?!? I thought he was Playing WLB and Anderson was the SLB? this would affect Thomas Davi's value alot imo.

I thought so too but on the Carolina website they have him at SLB. In the last game that's where he played and he and Anderson played on 3rd down. Beason wasn't playing so that's likely to change. He was out in coverage on the TE, maybe they thought that was safer than getting hit, but I would do the opposite.Adding in Eyes of the Guru John writes about this but don't want to post results here.

On the strong side again. Anderson did well too but when Beason comes back one or both will suffer a little.

I will be somewhat curious as to how this plays out if Beason returns. If he doesn't Davis and Anderson will be more than fine but something has to give if Beason returns to his normal 3 down role.

They are re-playing the game now on NFL N. I didn't see the original game so this is my first view.

Davis looked pretty good, but was blocked pretty effectively by one TE and lineman. He looks fast but was a safety coming out of college who bulked up.

He played mostly SLB but at times on even 1st down they played 2 LB sets with he and Anderson and they would switch sides at times even with no TE on the line.

If Beason is out awhile he may play himself in shape and be hard to get off the field. If he stays healthy, but looks very good right now.
