Thomas Jones Owners (any out there?) (1 Viewer)

Sorry I haven't seen a recant thread about so please don't throw too many stones if I missed one.

I'm pretty sure alot of you guys drafted Jones in the 2nd/3rd round of your draft this year and he's hardly come close to his expected

ADP this season. What do you plan to do with this guy now that the playoffs are approaching?

Upcoming matchups:

Week 11 Steelers :scared:

Week 12 At Cowboys :wall:

Week 13 At Dolphins

Week 14 Browns

Week 15 At Pats :hot:

Week 16 At Titans

I've tried to sell this guy and can't even get a nibble. I'm optimistic about weeks 13 and 14 but can you really trust Jones during the playoffs?

Also I've heard rumblings that Leon Washington will get more touches and may even take over. Is that the case? Does Jones have any value at all at this point?

A below average, at best, season. The Jets just ended up sucking way too much, certainly more then anyone ever anticipated.

His schedule appears to be more of the same. He has a pulse and is at least healthy for the most part thus far. Srviceable.

I don't see Washington taking over, but I also don't see the Jets changing their views on running the ball.

As a Jets homer, I can tell you it has more to do with the o line than it does Tj. And while I dont want to make Kendall out to be Orlando Pace, he was a very good lineman. And if you dont agree with that, you will agree with me when I say he is better than Adrien Clarke or John Bender. The play of the RB begins and ends with the O line. So if he had, say, the O line of Colts or Denver (vintage days) he would be a legit back. That being said, it seems that while an above average back, he simply cannot make up for the lines deficiencies like other great backs can.

He may benefit from a soft schedule in the coming weeks (after Pitt) but it is unlikely that the holes in the line will be filled until the off season. So while you may expect a bump in his production, do not expect too much. Although it may be likely that the Jets piece it together, and I hope they do, I just dont see it happening this year.

Thanks guys! I hate to drop Jones because he is healthy and get the majority of touches but I can't trade this giy for the life of me! Even when I try to slip him into a muti-package deal.

I'll probably just drop him just before waivers close for the season. I could use a backup TE for insurance at that position and I as my 4th/5th RB I can't see myself relying on Jones during the playoffs.

Luckily I didn't draft the bum until the 5th round, so I have only needed him for bye weeks. But I'd say he's about as useless as Fred Taylor or Julius Jones.

I said it a hundred times last year, and I'll say it again. The Jets can't run block, and TJ can't fix that problem. Last year the uninformed kept blaming the Jets' RB's. WRONG. Sure, they weren't pro bowlers, but they took the blame for the worst run blocking offensive line in the NFL last year.... and even though Kendall is merely an avrage LG, losing him made the unit worse. I'm a rabid Jets homer, and I did all I could to warn people that TJ would NOT live up to anything near his ADP. Not his fault at all.... with Mangold as the lone exception, this O line can't block the sun with a circus tent.
