No idea what's going on, but I sure hope Proninja is OK. Guy iced me by USPS, bro. More importantly, he did so while shipping me a hard to find (in FL) beer to give my little brother for Christmas. Whatever is happening, all the best.

 
Yeah.... I don't love "vaguebooking," but do not want to completely invade his privacy but would like him to know we are thinking about him.

Totally random, but even before seeing this thread, I was just thinking about how I hope proninja's nuts are okay.

His wife put it on FBook, so I'm sure Ninja won't mind it being shared here.

He's on a month or so long trip to Southern Asia, and has been having headaches. Apparently has fluid on his brain, so he's been airlifted from Cambodia to Bangkok where he will be undergoing emergency brain surgery.

I do know that Bangkok is one of the most desired destinations for medical tourism in that region. Not sure about it's relative quality to the US or Europe, but in an emergent situation like this, it's his best option.

Thoughts are with ninja.

Unsure about this specific procedure, but articles like this look pretty promising.

Many people come to Bangkok, Thailand not only for a holiday but also for medical care. Medical care in Bangkok is the same standard as in the US or Europe, but prices are much cheaper and wait times are much less.

People come to Thailand for things as small as annual check-ups and as large as major surgery or even heart transplants. The level of care they receive at a private hospital in Thailand is the same quality as in their home country, but the standard of caring from doctors and nursing staff is much higher, yet the price is low.

If you're thinking of being one of those people who comes to Thailand for medical tourism, read up on the following Bangkok private hospitals. At any of these private hospitals, you will get western-standard medical care for a Thai price.
