thoughts on ray rice week1 and beyond... (1 Viewer)

What are the consensus thoughts on Rice's production week1. I'm fairly confident Willis still can't walk, and I'm fairly confident Cinci's D will still stink up whatever stadium they're playing in. And I'm fairly confident Balt's O is not going to light up the skies with their passing game. I'm seeing a monster game from Rice week1, any thoughts? Also, does anyone believe he can unseat Willis as the starter, even when Willis comes back close to 100% healthy? Rice looked good in college, and has looked great in preseason, the money and all that good stuff aside, I think Rice gives them a better chance at winning than Willis...

I own Rice in both my leagues and McGahee in one of them (traded McGahee in the other with some other players for Gore). I am leaning toward starting Rice over Perry and Morris in one league as my #2 RB (start 2 RBs). I am likely starting Rice as my #3 RB over a bunch of RBBC members in my other league. In both leagues it is .5 ppr, 1/10 yds rush/rec, 6/td. Even if Cinci loads up against the run, based on touches (and reported talent) alone, I am liking Rice week 1 against a terrible defensive unit.

I'm hoping McGahee comes back strong for this year as I traded FOR him in my other league (don't ask, lol) and gave up some talent to get him and some prospects (Mayo, L. Jackson). I'm hoping McGahee will perform to his approx ADP of around RB 15 because if he does I should make the playoffs and from there any team can win the title with a little luck.

I like Rice this week but I DO expect McGahee to come back and be given a chance to be the featured back for at least this year at some point, probably week three.

Welcome to the forum. About 4 threads on the 1st two pages have already made this fairly hot topic a well discussed one as well. A new thread was not real necessary, but for the record (again), I'm starting Rice vs. the porous Cincy D in week one over Perry, Chris Johnson, Stewart, Bruce, Cotchery, Fred & Fargas.
