Three BOLD preditions for 2010 (1 Viewer)

The Rockies will win the NL West but lose to the Giants in the NLCS. Brian Wilson will lead the NL in saves. The Rangers finally wise up and fire Ron Washington but it's a little too late and they just miss out on a playoff spot. *Disclaimer I'm really not a Giants fan (I don't even really like them at all).
First two looking good at the break. The latter...well...Ron Washington still has time to screw it up :own3d:

1. White Sox win the WS and Alex Rios hits 20 HRs (the latter being the boldest of those predictions).2. Brett Anderson wins the AL Cy Young (that's not bold. that's pretty much a lock).3. Braves win the NL East, the NL and lose to the White Sox in the WS. (toss in a 35 HR season for Troy Glaus while we're at it)
White Sox and Braves both leading their divisions.Rios should blow by 20. Glaus has an outside shot at 35. Anderson has tossed 30 dazzling innings.

Those predictions need more boldness.

Yeah cause EVERYONE picked the Giants to make it to the World Series? :shrug: Also prior to the season I didn't hear anyone saying that B. Wilson was one of the top closers in the game. Of course I could have really gone out on a limb and picked the Braves to win the NL East...they haven't done that much over the past 15 years :o lol

Any closer who has had his job for at least 3 seasons is a top closer.

Really? Because I didn't see too many preseason closer articles having Wilson listed as a "top tier" closer.
Rather than continuing this back and forth I'll let Razzball summarize how I feel about closershttp://razzball.com/?s=%2412+salads

There aren't any $12 salads on my rosters and there never will be, it is full of donkeycorns though...as it is every year.

Wilson=Mariano=Broxton=Wagner=Valverde

They're all the same, the marginal difference between them isn't worth the price difference they usually command draft day. If you bought Wilson for good value, then cheers to you, I did too...and dealt him for Verlander in late April.

I realize I took the other owner out to the wood shed with that trade, but if someone else sees Wilson like that doesn't that say something to you like this guy is perceived to be pretty damn good?

This really makes no sense on what his perceived value is right now and what it was at the start of the season. Wilson was ranked as around the 9th closer and I predicted that he'd lead the NL in saves and the guy said my predictions needed to be more bold. I countered basically that I thought it was a fairly bold prediction along with the Giants winning the NL and going to the World Series. If they aren't bold enough for his or your liking it's really no big deal to me. Thanks for the reply.

1. The Texas Rangers win the AL Pennant but lose in the World Series.2. The Mets surrender a 5 game lead in the last week of the season.3. Pujols hits 2 bombs in the opener; people make statements like "he is on pace for 324 home-runs"!
Albert hit two round trippers today.... if my calculations are correct... that puts him on pace for 324 home runs... shattering the record. One down... two to go.
Getting no-hit for 7.1 innings and still finding a way to win is a good start to the season for your 1st prediction.
Gonna take credit for picking the Rangers at the start of the season. Hope I'm wrong and they win it all... although a Giants/Rangers series would be awesome.Almost called for "year of the no-no" and I would be 3 for 3. Couldn't resist poking fun at the Mets who are my daughter's boyfriend's team.

Not too shabby... got Wilson leading the NL in saves AND got the Giants going to the WS. Ron Washington survived and the Rangers made the playoffs so x that one out. Ironically two of my preditions for the 2009 season was that the Rangers would win the AL West and J. Hamilton will be the AL MVP. Looks like I was a year early :goodposting:
