Throwing Together a Fantasy Draft Music CD (1 Viewer)

Every year before we start our fantasy draft, we always throw in a CD filled with football tunes - ie. MNF theme, ESPN theme, various songs, Jim Mora/Denny Green rants (for a quick chuckle). It helps to get into the spirit of the season. Was wondering if anyone else did anything like this or if I am the only :nerd: If so, whatcha got?

I've been looking for some cheap NFL music online to have for the draft. Didn't want to splurge for the entire NFL music box set, but The Power & the Glory looks promising.

my personal favorite....

"One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" by George Thorogood when Chris Chambers is drafted.

You could go with theme music for teams when it's their picks similar to whats metioned in the FBG's NFL Draft ariticle.

As for it getting gay, I forget who said it but I think it's fairly accurate" Fantasy Football is Dungeons & Dragons for jocks."

your draft is moving WAY too slow if you have time to cue up music for specific players getting drafted. The draft is way to good ove an event to even need music. Do they play music in NFL draft rooms ... hell no. This said, a little "mood music" prior to the draft isn't a terrible idea, but I am usually too focused on my picks to think about music.

I would take that one step further and say it's for dorks who wish they had been jocks. I'm guilty of it myself, to an extent, but I think I would just throw on whatever CDs I had around. Then again, I don't own an NFL jersey, have never painted my face for a game, have no posters and other than a UGA flag my wife bought me and a commemorative UGA plate a friend gave me, I have no sports memorabilia whatsoever.

 There is no possible way that I would have time to queue up music for certain picks during the darft. I do have a mix CD that has NFL films, MNF theme, ESPN theme, CBS theme, and some Bud Lite "Real American Heroes" commercials. It gets played during our breaks.

My team's name is the Black Label Berserkers, after the great BLS song on the 1919 Eternal CD. Before every draft I do a shot of Everclear and listen to that song. After that, I'm ready to draft and/or kill.

Same here. There is no way I would play anything after the draft starts. We have a catered breakfast, crack some beers, listen to Jim Mora flip out and then get started. Its not like we all dance naked with headdresses on.

If someone drafts the Tennessee Titans defense, however unlikely, you could play "Let It Rain" by Eric Clapton.

When someone drafts Tony Romo, you could play Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot"

When someone drafts LenDale White, you could play Weird Al's "Fat"

If someone drafts Ricky Williams, however unlikely, you could play any Bob Marley song, or even pop in a yoga DVD.
