95% of the entire article is based on a random reddit thread. I work with Gen Zers and they use them and don’t really care about this at all.

Stuff like this exhausts me and makes me look forward to retiring someday so that I can completely ignore Gen Z
It worked here.Cranking out content, it's not all Pulitzer material.
If you were looking to get eyeballs, and increase ad revenue, "look at these stupid kids lol" is tried and true.
You're cancelled.Better the thumb up than the middle finger.
One Young Person Said Something, and Old People Are Really Upset!Stuff like this exhausts me and makes me look forward to retiring someday so that I can completely ignore Gen Z
I'll tell you which Italian Americans are annoyed, if not outraged:I remember the Post's excellent story about how "Italian Americans were outraged" over Chris Pratt voicing Mario in a new movie. The article was based on three random tweets - not sure how they even knew that Lakersfan781 was Italian.
Generation X Has Declared War on LaughterI should submit a story to the Post about how the laughing emoji has also been "cancelled" worldwide, based on Joe doing away with it here for a while.
Yep. "Watch XYZ politician DESTROY a reporter" or "Selena Gomez leaves fans SPEECHLESS with red dress"."Celebrity X did Y and the internet EXPLODED!!!!" articles are pretty much the worst of it. This isn't much better.
Stealing this!I mentioned this in the daily shtick thread... but actually typing out the words "thumbs up emoji" is my go-to response with my daughter. She hates me for it and I expect her to kill me in my sleep one night as a result.

Not even one thread. It’s just one post. Which is likely trolling.I think what some are missing is this is mostly a manufactured story. It’s making a broad accusation based on some tiny sample size - a Reddit post/thread.
This is all they’ve been about for years. Look at my Chris Pratt/Mario example as well. What’s hilarious is that the NY Post’s entire schtick here is to generate outrage by inflating fake outrage about something that isn’t actually happening.
thumbs up emojiyou're all turning in to your parents
To be fair I have not yet put velcro on my coffee table to hold my remotes. And I quit making printed copies of the internet years ago.you're all turning in to your parents
hope you don't mind if i steal this shtick for use with my kidsthumbs up emojiyou're all turning in to your parents
Oh I'm stealing it, too, but with some extra oomph.Stealing this!I mentioned this in the daily shtick thread... but actually typing out the words "thumbs up emoji" is my go-to response with my daughter. She hates me for it and I expect her to kill me in my sleep one night as a result.

All the ones from Jersey that know me after I discovered the capisce emoji.
if more kids listened to kpop the world would be a better place.
That’s now the article is saying Gen Z is taking it as well.Typically when my wife texts the thumbs up, it means “I acknowledge your last text and I’m annoyed with you.”
