Time to make a trade...? (1 Viewer)

Thanks for checking out my idea for this 12 team, .5ppr, .1/rua, 6paTD league:

Team: Mahomes / Jefferson / Tank / Achane / Ken Walker / Henry / Worthy
Bench: Javonte W / Keenan / Watson / couple backup rbs

Thought process:
Went in to the year expecting revamped aerial attack in KC and you can already see that is not coming to fruition without Hollywood in the lineup. Add in the injury to Pacheco and I have concerns the offense will be similar to last year and therefor Mahomes' production can be replicated off the waiver wire.

With that thought in mind, I am contemplating trading Mahomes + Ken Walker for Montgomery + AJ Brown or Nico and then playing the QB waiver game with Geno & Darnold (perhaps Maye at some point).

I not only lack depth, but I lack high end firepower IF the KC offense replicates what it did last year.

Thanks for your thoughts,
SunsOut.

I wouldn’t do a thing it’s a good team. Your thought process could go the other way and Worthy gets more and more targets now that they don’t have Pacheco or Brown. Their issue last year wasn’t Mahomes it was no one but Rice could catch the ball. That doesn’t seem to be an issue with Worthy.

KC is going to have to rely on Mahomes with Pacheco out. I think the complete opposite of you with regards to the KC offense. With a healthy Pacheco I would have been in line with your thoughts as they didn't need Mahomes to win games. Now they do. I expect a return to the throw it all over the field approach and Mahomes to be the benefactor. I wouldn't look to trade at this point.

Despite the advice, I made the trade and picked up Sam Darnold.

Unfortunately, the Chief's offense is more of the same dynamic as last year, which makes Mahomes' production very replaceable. The loss of Hollywood really puts a cap on this offense's upside.

Cheers - and I suggest everyone with Mahomes tries to sell on name value and get more valuable positional players in return.
