Time to shop Collie? (1 Viewer)

With Garcon coming back strong, I know Manning is still looking to Collie, but will his stock hold, or will it start to fall? Is the sharky move to try to move Collie now for maximum return, or is his value still just too strong to deal away?

His stock was higher two -three weeks ago before getting hurt . . . some (including a Colts beat writer) suggested that he would be on the outside of 2WR sets after Garcon came back . . .

they were wrong . . .

OK, so your conclusion would be..... Keep or shop?

You won't get maximum return for him and his value isn't too strong to deal away. The time to "sell high" on Collie was three weeks ago. While he will be a decent enough wr, I'm fairly confident he has played his best games already this year. You might be able to get something for him though. If I were a Collie owner, I'd be trying to deal him for someone like Lynch. Possibly package him with another wr to get a stud wr.

The shark move phase has passed.

Redraft I assume..I'd hold unless your in need of something...Wayne or Garcon unable to go...back to total money status.

This.

I waited too long to move him, He was my 4th WR and my RB's have been awful so I moved him for Felix Jones.

Not ideal but I have Barber so I took a shot.

I know no one cares but that's about the best I could do with him in redraft.

how can he be your 4th WR? he is the #1 WR in my PPR league and non PPR. he is the #2 WR/TE in my non PPR league where TEs are the same position as WRs

I'd rather start Moss, Nicks and Wallace as my #3 over him  I get points based on length of TD non PPR.

I sold him early last week fearful of the injury coupled with garçon. Was able to get crabtree and forsett (needed a bye week rb), fwiw.

Outside of two monster weeks, Collie has had good but not great numbers. I could easily see benching him, esp if you went wr early in your draft.

Yes, but he's consistent. He hasn't given you a complete dud game like a lot of the big name WR's. Also, considering his draft status at the beginning of the year, chances are that most Collie owners don't have much invested in him. I still say ride it out. He'll have more great games along with a bunch of good games.

Collie & Garcon play completely different positions. Collie is strictly a slot receiver, and his value lies in him playing the position he's suited for. If Collie played on the outside, he wouldn't be successful, and the same for Garcon if he played the slot. Garcon will be the guy who plays in 2WR sets, but that isn't many snaps with the Colts...

I think the return of Gonzalez could cut into Collie's stats, as he's best suited to the slot as well. I still think if Collie can hold off Gonzo, he'll remain a top-30 WR. I think Garcon is closer top-20.

I made a trade last week w/ a guy who owned both Collie & Garcon, saying I'd take either of them. He offered Garcon & I'm happy with it.

Here's the key with Collie: 44 catches on 54 targets (81%). Manning is smart and he knows that he gets rewarded for throwing to Collie. Collie converts targets at an incredible clip, and a lot of those are long targets. It's not like we're only looking at Welker-style 5 yard passes.

I would argue that Collie is a more consistent WR2 from here on out than the average guy. Certainly more consistent than Garcon. Why? He's earned that important trust with Manning. He's also a key short yardage target when in the red zone.

The most detrimental development for Collie would be for Clark to really get going since they are playing somewhat similar roles.

Bottom line: There's absolutely no way I would trade Collie for Garcon right now straight up. I love that consistency there and I think he continues to produce because of Manning's faith in him.

For those of us who actually like winning FF leagues, we're going to hang on to Collie and continue to start him (and his consistent point totals) unless we are completely overwhelmed with an offer.

Am I the only one who thinks Gonzalez will take some of Collie's snaps in the slot?
Gonzalez will see the field if Collie is hurt. Otherwise, he'll only be temporarily relieving someone. Face it - Gonzalez is a backup that will only get in the game based on injury. Who could he outperform of the existing receivers? They're all playing at an incredibly high level.
