####ting the bed (1 Viewer)

We hear this all the time..."oh no, he ##### the bed!"  Or "he sure #### the bed there...".

Where does this popular phrase come from?

I think the connotation goes back to when a person died in bed and #### himself.

That is why the most common association with #### the bed is when something dies "my lawn mower #### the bed"

You often see it when someone really screws up. Like "the pitcher gave up 8 runs that inning...he really #### the bed".

I have never once heard it used that way. I think most people where i live would say my lawnmower took a ####. Wonder if thats a regional thing.

#### the bed

1. verb. To die

2. verb. To become mechanically inoperable beyond the point of repair. See also, ####ed, fubar.

entymology and usage: "#### the bed" comes from the unfortunate final humiliation when an animal's (yes, including human's) bowels completely relax at the point of death, causing the contents of the colon to be expelled. To use the term as a "euphamism" for biological death is considered to be in poor taste. It is more often colorfully used in definition

On urban dictionary that is the number 2 definition(no pun intended). Top definition was "a sudden and complete failure or collapse producing a profoundly negative result."
