Whats the etiquette here?

Liquor: My assumption is that if you want top shelf liquor you must tip for it?

Meals: 20% ?

Most all inclusives include tips as well. Usually give a few bucks here and there, $10 or $20 to a bartender who I know I'll be seeing all day, a few bucks to someone who lays out chairs/sets up an umbrella, etc. 20% on meals seems pretty crazy.

Call the resort ahead of time (or check out tripadvisor reviews) to see if staff is allowed to accept tips. Some claim not to solicit tips, but are still allowed to accept them. If they are allowed to accept tips, then treat it like you would a comparable hotel. If they are not allowed to accept tips, don't try as you don't want to get someone fired.

You can guess based on what you would pay elsewhere, I usually tip 20% but have gone lower at an all-inclusive.

Ive only ever been to two (not a fan), but my experience is that it depends on how nice the place is...

We went to a really, really nice AI in St Lucia for our honeymoon and upon checking in, they informed us that if any of their staff accepted a tip and they found out, that person would be fired on the spot.

We later went to a super-cheap, too good to be true deal, AI on T&C and if you werent tipping big, everyone would absolutely ignore you.
