Titans at Colts (1 Viewer)

Pereira on that challenge of Wright's catch: Couldn't tell if ball hit the ground or not. That's why it stood.

I really feel for good young teams that choke in games like this. It becomes obvious to them early, and they don't really have the veteran maturity or leadership to fight their way through it.

You could see this one coming from a mile away though, after that huge emotional win last week. Too bad.

That was a fumble by Chris Johnson, unless they ruled him down already for forward progress being stopped. Which was possible. It came out before he hit the ground though.

I don't think the refs will stick with a call just for not wanting to be proven wrong. If they are that thin-skinned they probably wouldn't have made it to the NFL level.

But I hate having refs doing the review on the sideline, rather than let someone up in the booth with a couple of 90" TVs do it. They now show the fans in the stadium exactly what the ref sees doing the review down at his little 30" TV or whatever it is. And from what I've seen they don't always do a good job of showing them views. I can think of two replay reviews this year at Reliant Stadium where the pertinent part of the play wasn't even shown in slow mo to the ref, it was focused on some other part of the play. Now maybe the ref is telling them what to show him, but when I got home and watched the broadcasts, TV had better replays that showed what happened.

Though it's the same TV guys in the truck sending up the replays either way, I believe.

On theme with what I just said about the refs possibly not being shown good replay angles and such... the AFC South blogger who is at the game and able to see on the jumbotron what the ref sees just tweeted, "Seemed like the definitive replay and freeze frame came after ruling was made. Why so slow? #Colts #Titans"

Might have been a mistake for the Colts to play the "bend but don't break" on D this week. Teams like the Titans will take that dink and dunk stuff all day long

Luck is completely crapping the bed today. Ugh. I hate those "been reading his press clippings...on the cover of Sports Illustrated..." games.

If that's the case, then why are the real refs so much worse at getting a call right after replay than the replacements were? As bad as they were in other areas, the replacements pretty much always got the call right after a replay, whereas the real refs seem to botch a couple of patently obvious reviews every week.
