Pretty amazing that the Ravens Defense is winning this game and all people can talk about is a Murderer Ahh and A Cheap Shot Artist( Kearse is playing though). Ahh you guys must work for ESPN.... :wall:

 
What's new?  The Ravens play dirty.After that Orlando Brown cheap shot, they better search Ray Lewis for knives.  I hear he knows how to carve things up pretty well.

10-7 at half. Tenn. gets the ball 1st. Good news for the Ravens, are defense will be on the field and a chance to put more points on the board.... :thumbup:

Weird, little-known NFL rule: If you fair catch a punt with no time remaining in the half, you get a free FG try from the 50. I saw it once when I was a kid and always remembered how weird it was. Has anyone else seen this?Ravens had a good chance to try it if they'd let the clock run down to 3 or 4 seconds, THEN called time out, THEN fair caught the punt. Another FG could've gone a long way, the way this game's going....

"6. If time expires while ball is in play and a fair catch is awarded, receiving team may choose to extend the period with one fair catch kick down. However, placekicker may not use tee." You might be right, it doesn't say anything about the 50 so I'd assume it was from where the ball is caught, and the one I saw a long time ago probably just happened to be at the 50. Either way, it's an interesting rule...

Well I am not going to sit around and watch people talk about the best player in football that way, but I can step up and not reply to his garbage anymore..
 
I'm really not a fan of either team but if I were to take a side, I'd go with Balt. That said, is anyone else sick of RLewis' antics after *every* play? I mean, make the tackle and go back to the huddle.

:yes: I can understand all the yelling and carrying-on before the game to get the team/one's self fired up, but once the game starts, calm down. Ray Lewis is going to go down as one of the elite NFL LB's ever, he'd do well to act more like the great ones that have come before him.
 
Despite Ray's greatness, there's an illustration of what bugs me about him. The DL took Brown down by the ankle, Ray got there late and piled on the already downed carrier, and then got up and danced like he'd done something. And of course, the scorekeeper will give him 2 solo tackles for it.

I agree that he does this a lot.However, I honestly believe that when Ray celebrates he is doing it because he is thrilled about the play, not just to get on camera. Look at how he celebrates on the sidelines when the offense does well....hes just as happy for his teamates as he is for himself.

I live in Baltimore and am a Raven Fan. But, I will admit Ray Lewis is an embarassment IMO. He is a great player, just not sure if all the jumping around for making a simple tackle is neccessary. He needs to just play and let his actions speak for themselves.

LMAO..yeah Ray is the only player that jumps around :rolleyes: ..He gets his teammates and the fans into the game...good for him

Really, even though that would bug me a little, I could deal. It's when he DOESN'T make the tackle, piles on, gets up, dances, and the announcers start in with the "RAAAAAY LEEEEWWWWIS! ANOTHER AMAAAAAZING PLAY! THAT's EIGHT TACKLES ALREADY!!!" :wall:

If Ray had eight tackles at halftime, I had three.

 
:rotflmao: I checked in to see what the word on the game is, too bad nobody's talking about it.It would be totally sweet to see someone smack Ray Ray in the chops and shut him up for a few minutes. I know he's the best LB in the league but man his antics are tiresome to watch. He's the epitome of low class self promoter.

Yeah, it's applicable to the everyone in the NFL as well as Ray. You could even argue there's a psychological advantage to, say, scoring a TD and acting non-chalant about it (see: Barry Sanders) instead of dancing around like you've won the F-ing lottery.

Take the game over???No offense intended (really), but could you enlighten me on taking the game over?
 
This doesn't have anything to do with this game, but if you fair catch a punt and time expires, you can do a free kick on an untimed down. The important thing is that on a free kick, the defense cannot line up on the line of scrimmage - they have to be 10 yards off the ball. What that means is your kicker can hit more of a line drive without worrying about it getting blocked. A line drive should, of course, go farther than a conventional FG try. This happened during a Patriots/Colts game in the 1980s. What had happened was the Colts did a pooch punt to avoid a return, and a lineman actually fair caught it. They tried a 60 yard FG and missed. I also saw the 49ers try it and miss a few years later, but I haven't seen it in at least a decade.About the only way you can gameplan for this is if you back up the opponent to a 4th down at their own goal line at the end of a half, and they punt it away short and you fair catch it in their own territory as time expries. You'd probably also have to call time out with 1 second to go in the half.

I've seen two. One on Eddie George on the second (I think?) drive, one on Chris Brown the first drive after George sat down (the play before I posted it last page). Game tracker shows Lewis with solo tackles on both plays. :thumbup:
 
Another TD for McCariens. I know the Titans love Calico's potential and Bennett's a solid WR too, but how can the Titans keep McCariens off the field next year? This guy has emerged in a big way this year.

 
Raymond DOES miss tackles. Titans on top, was only a matter of time. Titans offense is clicking.
