Found this on a Titans board. Enjoy!Main Need - QB: Steve McNair is around 67 in NFL years. And with the recent contract bonus situation, he may not even be around next season. We need a franchise quarterback, FAST! And if he does come back, wonderful! He can just get put into the situation he was in when he came into the league with Chris Chandler, but reversed. Old, verteran quarterback slowly but surely handing over the reigns to someone else. Hello Vince Young. Strong Need #1 - OL: Brad Hopkins, his time is running down. If he leaves, we only have eight linemen on the roster. That leaves three backups. We need some damn good depth, especially in case someone goes down, which will probably happen. Look for a few linemen to be taken from the second to seventh rounds. Strong Need #2 - Safety: Both our starters are now free agents, and Vincent Fuller, Donnie Nickey, and Marcus Randall are so not the answer. Probably only one of the starters can return. Lamont Thompson or Tank Williams, Tank Williams or Lamont Thompson. The obvious choice here would be Tank, since, well, Thompson makes some of the dumbest decisions possible. But, chances are, Thompson gets resigned and Tank gets the kabosh. Look for an early second round pick here, and I'll be praying to God that somehow Michael Huff (no chance, I know) or Darnell Bing falls this far. Other Need - LB: Some other people suggest we pick up A.J. Hawk, but ya know, I'm not ready to give away Peter Sirmon's spot just yet. Fisher says himself that it takes more than one year to fully recover from an ACL injury, so I say give Peter one more season to see if he can solidify the starting outside job. If not, we have Rocky Boiman to fill in for a year. I don't see this as such a strong need as everyone else, but hey, more depth is always nice, right? Second day pick. Other Need - WR: Hello Titan wideout, have you taken your injury pill today? Every wideout on this team either missed atleast one game, or played injured, with two ending up on IR. Bobby Wade was claimed off waivers, and O.J. Small was called up from the practice squad (along with two others who were dropped soon after) and neither seem like they'll be on the main roster next season. A sixth man in the depth chart would look mighty good. I love me some Notre Dame, so I love me some Maurice Stovall. Second day pick here. Minimal Need - DT: Our defensive line is big in the middle, and fast on the ends, but another corn fed middle pluggin' hoss would be nice to add to the rotation with Haynesworth, Starks, Long and Clauss. Second day pick. Not Needed: Running Back: Chris Brown and Travis Henry picked up quite a lot of steam at the end of the year, and Jarrett Payton shows quite a lot of promise. Damien Nash didn't show up at all this year, so there's a chance that a second day pick will be used at the running back spot to provide a little more depth. Fullback: Troy Fleming is quietly turning into a great fullback. Good pass catching hands, and improving blocking ability. No needs here. Tight End: Our crew had, I believe, the third most total receptions in a season in NFL history. No needs whatsoever here. Cornerback: Although inexperienced, Reynaldo Hill and Adam Jones showed quite a lot of promise, and Andrew Woolfolk and Tony Beckham provide some minimal veteran experience as Michael Waddell and Rich Gardner provide some third year depth. Kicker/Punter: Rob Bironas turned out to be quite consistent, and Craid Hentrich is awesome as always. No needs. Now, of course, I use the term "main need" a little loosely, because if Leinart and Young aren't there at our first spot, it's not really a must need anymore. But yeah, feedback, debate, disagree, agree, whatever, just reply! _________________Steve McNair > Vince Young

i dunno, lotsa rumors last year that they wanted a RB in the draft, look what they ended up with... there are more quality backs (on average) than last year

Im not sure who wrote this, but I hope they dont consider themselves a knowledgeable Titans fan. Was this from titanscentral.net?

No it was another board. I'm sure the author is no expert but did raise some valid points. What exactly do you disagree with Diesel?Personally, I think they need a veteran WR. Drew Bennett can't carry the load alone.

Agree, though Im not sure it'll be Young. McNair will undoubtedly be around though, Im not sure where the concern stems from there

Strong Need #1 - OL:

Brad Hopkins, his time is running down. If he leaves, we only have eight linemen on the roster. That leaves three backups. We need some damn good depth, especially in case someone goes down, which will probably happen. Look for a few linemen to be taken from the second to seventh rounds.

The Titans havent given any indication about whether or not they plan to cut or renegotiate Hopkins. Roos is a natural LT, and Im sure theyd like to get him over there, but there is no replacement on the right side. Stewart isnt ready.

Strong Need #2 - Safety:

Both our starters are now free agents, and Vincent Fuller, Donnie Nickey, and Marcus Randall are so not the answer. Probably only one of the starters can return. Lamont Thompson or Tank Williams, Tank Williams or Lamont Thompson. The obvious choice here would be Tank, since, well, Thompson makes some of the dumbest decisions possible. Saftey is a huge need, but the Titans have given no indications of which, if either Tank or Lamont will be brought back. Neither really deserve to, though Tank is probably the better choice of the two.

Other Need - LB:

Some other people suggest we pick up A.J. Hawk, but ya know, I'm not ready to give away Peter Sirmon's spot just yet. Fisher says himself that it takes more than one year to fully recover from an ACL injury, so I say give Peter one more season to see if he can solidify the starting outside job. This completely misses the biggest need of our defense, which is the gaping hole at MLB. Peter Sirmon is more than capable, when healthy.

Other Need - WR:

Hello Titan wideout, have you taken your injury pill today? Every wideout on this team either missed atleast one game, or played injured, with two ending up on IR. Bobby Wade was claimed off waivers, and O.J. Small was called up from the practice squad (along with two others who were dropped soon after) and neither seem like they'll be on the main roster next season. A second day pick does nothing to address the Titans needs at this position. They have all the developmental depth they need at the position. What they need is a veteran WR who can come in and be the #2, which Roydell isnt yet ready to be full-time, and Jones won't be ready for til midseason at least.

Minimal Need - DT:

Our defensive line is big in the middle, and fast on the ends, but another corn fed middle pluggin' hoss would be nice to add to the rotation with Haynesworth, Starks, Long and Clauss. Second day pick.

Any more players here and we'll have to cut one of the above players. Clauss is serviceable and uber-cheap.

Not Needed:

Running Back:

Chris Brown and Travis Henry picked up quite a lot of steam at the end of the year, and Jarrett Payton shows quite a lot of promise. Damien Nash didn't show up at all this year, so there's a chance that a second day pick will be used at the running back spot to provide a little more depth.

Poster completely misses the problem of Henry being due a huge roster bonus, and that Henry has all the leverage in the situation despite his off-year. He'll command more money on the market than the Titans are willing to pay him. It would surprise me for him to return.

Fullback:

Troy Fleming is quietly turning into a great fullback. Good pass catching hands, and improving blocking ability. No needs here.

Fleming will be lucky to be on the roster come opening day. Hes done very little in his time here, much to my chagrin, as I publicly begged for the Titans to take him.

Tight End:

Our crew had, I believe, the third most total receptions in a season in NFL history. No needs whatsoever here.

If Kinney is traded, as is rumored, we'll have a fairly significant need for a blocking capable TE, unless the staff believes Gunther to be capable.

Cornerback:

Although inexperienced, Reynaldo Hill and Adam Jones showed quite a lot of promise, and Andrew Woolfolk and Tony Beckham provide some minimal veteran experience as Michael Waddell and Rich Gardner provide some third year depth.

Hill and Jones are marginal starters, but will improve. Neither Woolfolk or Beckham can be a nickel guy, and there is severe need for a veteran to come in as a #2/#3 guy.

Kicker/Punter:

Rob Bironas turned out to be quite consistent, and Craid Hentrich is awesome as always. No needs.

Bironas will have plenty of competition in camp. He was good, but not good enough to guarantee himself a job.

Moron that wrote that. Not much of a Titans "expert" that can't spell the players' names and dissed Vincent Fuller. Fuller will be a starting safety for the Titans.

WMI, I wouldn't exactly call the guy a moron. Most people wouldn't even attempt to analyze the way he did.Diesel, I appreciate the feedback and agree with you on RB Henry. That response is so much better than "I hope the guy doesn't think he's an expert." Because believe it or not most of us aren't!

I disagree on the Fleming comment. He was battling injuries all year (hamstring)and he does have good hands and he's bulked up to be a decent lead blocker. He is a good special teams player and in a pinch(injuries), He could carry the rb load. He's going into his 3rd yr and I expect for him to be more involved in the offense this yr. He does need to stay healthy though. I would bet he's on the opening day roster because he wears so many hats and he's cheap(5th rd money I believe)

Agree with Diesel on the Henry thing. I doubt he will be a Titan in '06. However, how much money will he really command on the open market? Not a lot, IMO.I think the Titans are in a good situation this year. I believe they are involved in coaching the Senior Bowl and couple that with their already good scouting reputation, this should be a stellar draft for them.

Would be a whole lot better if we still had the 3rd pick in the 3rd round. Titans REALLY need to get something for Volek.

The Titans don't need corners? They led the league with 33 passing TDs allowed, five more than #2 San Fran. They also only had 9 INTs all year, only Oakland and Houston had fewer.Even if you lay a lot of the blame on the safeties and you're counting on Pac-Man to improve, I'd think you at least look for a veteran nickel guy.Just curious, Diesel, why you're so sure that McNair will re-negotiate his huge bonus and come back. Family reasons?
