TN Titans Defense (1 Viewer)

While looking over the team defense rankings, I notice TN is rated REALLY high. Kinda surprises me since it looks like Warner will play, and there are no significant injuries. Not sure if I'm missing something here. Anyone have any info/thoughts?

I picked them up as my D for this week. I dont know...its sort of just a hunch. The thing is, with football when the ball is rollin, its rollin!! Uphill or down...Tenn definently has an uphill roll going right now, at home, playing against a team that has a very distinct Jekell and Hyde history.

I just have a sense that they are going to kill the Cards. I could be wrong.

bump Please - the Titans the #1 D v. Arizona? I'll pick em up if someone tells me why I should.
They'll finally healthy. About the most useful thing I can add to this thread.
They've played pretty well over the past three weeks, and I think you can contribute that to their being healthy. But I have a hard time seeing them as the #1 DEF this week going against a fairly healthy AZ team.I appreciate Footballguys thinking outside the box by not ranking the "obvious" guys high. I'm just trying to decipher what they see in the Titans DEF this week. It looks like FBG expect Arizona to get their points and yards, so they must be counting on a bunch of sacks, turnovers, and a D/ST touchdown or two. Thoughts?

A couple of thoughts here:

1) There was a lot of talk in Phoenix about starting Leinart this week - let Warner come off the bench if needed

2) Second even if Warner starts, he does have games where he is awful....holding on to the ball too long and giving up a lot of sacks and interceptions.

Lastly, most FF leagues don't penalize DST for points scored or yards allowed > they get points for sacks, interceptions, fumbles recovered and touchdowns from the defense or special teams. In the high stakes competitions there are very small points for the opposing team having a low score and nothing for yards against and no negatives, so the rankings should look a little different and Tennessee, at home vs Warner coming off a concussion or Leinart playing are a decent play.

Unfortunately there are NO FF sites that explicitly describe what their DST rankings are based on.....

They don't????

I play in a league where we get penalized for points allowed. When I plug those calculations into the custom cheatsheets they drop from #1 to #7 FWIW

I don't see it.

Tennessee's tough to run on, but they don't have the personnel in the secondary to stop Arizona. Finnegan's a really good CB, but no one stops Larry Fitzgerald (exept maybe Matt Leinart, lol). Anquan Boldin may have bigger numbers this week, since he will abuse Nick Harper.

I would add that Warner had a concussion last week, and so far this year, most if not all concussions have ended badly for ff owners.

I did not know that Tenn D is ranked #1 on this site, my guess is that they are doing that because Warner probably is not going to play.

As much as folks always want to project Cardinals success onto Lienart, if he is playing, I predict ugliness. Warner is a stud...Lienart is a dud

They allow relatively few total rushing yards, but that's because they have been easy to pass against. TN is 21st in YPC against, at 4.4. That's not very good.

Well, I guess the Warner news somewhat validates the case for TN DEF's #1 ranking. It will be interesting to see how Leinart will respond.
