**TNF on Prime - Vikings at Chargers**(-3.5, 44.5) 8:15 (14 Viewers)

Grandma better get her shawl and clutch it. No one is able to play OL. Everyone is injured or "not ready" to protect Herbert. Looks like drafting a wr instead of ol was a huge fuaxpax. Trade should be incoming I'd think?

They are a favorite tomorrow night, the Vikings have had their own problems, don't you feel this. is a pretty fair fight?
Wildcard Playoff atmosphere to it

Reichard had 18 last week, anyone starting him tonight on the road on TNF?
Vikings or Chargers Defense on anyone's radar tonight?

Wentz starting for the Vikings, what do you expect from him?

Herbert playing well in spite of the O-line issues
Coming out for Gadsen last week
With issues both teams have this could be a pretty good game
I'll take the home team on a short week...

Chargers- 27

Vikings- 23

Last 3 games that Chargers defense has allowed over 200 yds passing (Colts, Dolphins and Commanders). Wentz throws some terrible passes but he could reach 200 tonight with Addison and JJ.

Not sure the Vikings can score 20 points. Easy win for the Chargers.

Hack, the Vikings just dropped over twenty on Philadelphia and the Chargers don't rate very highly on defense for EPA (probably the best measure to use besides DVOA, which is behind a paywall). The Chargers have been moved on the past few weeks.

The Chargers may very well win easily, but the Vikings can score even if Wentz is a turnover and sack machine. Chargers are slightly above average to middle of the pack pass rushing and below average stopping the run.

Just saw this and figured I'd comment. You could be right in the end. Just my opinion, really.

This is my biased opinion as a disgruntled Vikings fan so take it for what its worth. ;)

Totally get it now. I should have heard the tone coming through and placed it as a nervous/disgruntled/reverse jinx fan sentiment. Heh. Take care and enjoy the game!

Barn burner tonight

Sloppiness, defensive scores, lot of points

35-31 Chargers over the Vikings

Carson Wentz DOES NOT SLIDE watch for this to have some sort of affect whether he gets lit up or just starts turning the ball over

I think Vegas mostly has this one right, though the over/under might be too high.

I think the Vikings come out running in this one and try to avoid turnovers. Aaron Jones sounds like he'll play, though I think Mason will be the lead regardless. I'm sure JJ will get his, but I think Addison slows down in this one, as the volume is just lower in general. I think the Vikings have handled their QB situation about as poorly as possible. McCarthy should have either been on IR or starting. The Wentz>McCarthy thought process is lunacy. Wentz sucks, maybe McCarthy does too, but 8 quarters is hardly enough time to decide that. If they had these doubts about McCarthy, then Kwesi is a moron, for not keeping Darnold or Jones, or signing Rodgers. Doing anything other than what they did. Right now, the Vikings are pretty clearly the worst team in their (admittedly very good) division. They should be better.

It sounds like Joe Alt is gonna be back for this one, and just in time given the Vikings pass rush. I think the Chargers stay pass heavy, as Herbert spreads it around, to now 4 guys with Gadsden becoming a big part of the offense. If I had to pick one for this week, I think Johnston gets deep for a big okay or 2, but ultimately everyone is a little risky except Herbert.

I think this game gets decided by a FG, so I'll begrudgingly take the Vikings to cover.

I'm only seeing one healthy RB for the Chargers on the depth chart. Vidal. FB Scott Matlock the backup? Did they call up someone from the practice squad? WR a backup RB for the game?

Hmm I just caught that Vikings OT Darrisaw is in danger of missing TNF due to short week. Was DNP all week.
Brian O'Neill is also questionable after DNP Mon/Tues but LP Wed.

It's possible Vikings go into TNF with 3 starters out from the oline. At the very least this line is unhealthy heading into the game.

I'd expect Vidal to hit double digits tonight, maybe just 12-15 but double digits, good shot at a short TD from a WR drawing flags near the end zone

Is JJ McCarthy active tonight and the back up if Wentz falls flat on his face?
Or is he not even suiting up tonight?

Is he really still recovering from injury? Are the Vikings scared to play him right now because of what they saw the first 2 games of the season?
I'm confused

I think McCarthy played so poorly, or, actually and to be more precise, was not as ready as they thought he would be during camp and they had no choice. They knew he was playing poorly or wasn’t ready. Like I kept saying in that thread, check out their PROE from the two McCarthy games and compare them to Wentz’s. The proof is right there in the pudding, babies. And who loves ya? - me as Telly Savales and Kojak
