COWBOYS
Owens out 2-4 weeks with broken finger
The News
Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens fractured the fourth metacarpal of his right hand during Sunday night's win over the Redskins, and he is expected to miss two-to-four weeks. The fourth metacarpal is the long bone on the back of his hand that leads into the ring finger. Owens will undergo surgery on Monday or Tuesday. "I feel like I'm a quick healer, and it starts tomorrow," he told the team's official web site. "Once we have the surgery, the healing process starts."
Our View
The positive spin, for both fantasy owners and the Cowboys, is that the team is on the bye in week three. We doubt Owens will be ready for the week four game in Tennessee, but at this point, a week five return sounds possible. Until Owens is back, Terry Glenn becomes the number one option in this passing game, Jason Witten should be more involved, and Patrick Crayton is expected to start. Crayton could be a useful fantasy option while Owens is down.
