Todd Haley refuses to shake hands w/McDaniels (1 Viewer)

I love the first line of the article. Can tell it's from a very professional source.

ETA: Just saw that it was a blog not an article so I take the last part back, but still love the first line.

What a baby. McDaniels owes you nothing. You don't like the fact they continued to score? Here is a novel idea ... stop them!

Major :goodposting: for Haley here.

I really don't care for Haley or McDaniels but this pretty much confirms that Haley is a d-bag who has a warped sense of reality.

A real man and a real HC sucks it up, shakes his hand, and gets his team ready for a payback if you truly think an opposing coach ran it up on you. Especially since it's a division rival, he should get several more chances for revenge.

Look at how Joe Gibbs handled the way BB really ran it up on the Skins in 2007. Despite how he may have felt personally, he shook his hand and told the media he had no problems with what they did whatsoever.

And if Haley really thought what McD did was wrong then just say so. I really get the sense that this guy is not all there.

Saw that and I was like WTF?!?

I wonder if d-bag Haley would have done the same thing if Belichick had run up the score on him....LOL

It may be one thing to leave the field without shaking hands, it is another to seek the oppossing coach out to wag your finger at him. Hilarious.

If I'm on the positive sign of a blowout, I don't let up either. I'd get my guys killed if the opposing team knew that I was just going to run toss sweeps for the remainder of the afternoon.

Yeah, that was ridiculous. It's not up to the winning team to make the other team feel better about themselves. If I was a coach of a team up big I may start using the game to practice some new stuff which may lead to scoring.

I don't get it. It could have been much worse. The Broncos only scored 2 TDs after halftime. Does Haley expect someone to quit scoring during the first half?

He doesn't get paid to shake hands, he gets paid to coach. He doesn't have to shake anyone's hand.

Sore losers are the best winners. See BB.

From Peter King's MMQB column: "SI colleague Jim Trotter tweeted last night that "Haley was not happy with broncos max protecting, throwing deep & blitzing regularly with a 32-point 4th-Q lead." According to Trotter, last year against the Broncos Jamaal Charles had the chance to break the single-game rushing record but Haley pulled him with 2:43 to play, needing just 38 yards. From my perspective, I see nothing that rises to the level of a team making a big stink about getting their noses rubbed in it."

He should have shaken his hand - but it is not the end of the world if he didn't.

Now waving your finger at someone made you seem like a little school girl and not an NFL head coach.

Thats Haley's fault for pulling Charles. This is PRO football. These people get paid to stop the other team. If they have hurt feelings, they need to find a new job.

He probably had Orton on his fantasy team and was pissed about the two TD's Tebow vultured.

Haley is a punk beeyotch. He didn't stop pouring it on Denver last year but expects McDaniels (who is trying to save his job) to ease off of him? If I were McD I would have hysterically laughed in his face.

I wish he would have "LeGarrette Blounted" him instead of shaking his finger at him. Other than that I don't have a problem with it. I also think everyone's off base thinking it has to do with running up the score. Rumors have it that McDaniels was disrespecting the players throughout the game from the sidelines like he did in San Diego. Haley is just sticking up for his guys.

I don't get this at all.

If Denver doesn't even try in the 2nd half, they only win by 6 total points. If you want the other team to stop trying, then come out and take a knee for 3 downs and then maybe Denver stops trying to score as well. KC was putting points up left and right and with a little more time in the game, KC could have made a game of it.

I rather doubt he has the vertical leap to make it over him but interesting idea.

"You show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser." -- Vince Lombardi

I've got absolutely no problem with what Haley did. And I've got no problem with what McDaniels and the Broncos' did either. This isn't pee wee football folks, it's the NFL.

Exactly. Both teams have 53 professionals on it. And coaches should act like adults after the game. Haley didn't stop trying to score and, in fact, outscored Denver in teh second half. Why should Denver stop trying?Haley comes across as a little girlie man here.

Is it sad that despite being an utter sleazebag, routinely benching Charles for illogical reasons and getting massacred yesterday that I still feel Haley is a significant step up from the Herm Edwards era in Kansas City? :lmao:

How do people know?

I don't think I ever watched a game, seen the outcome and then thought ooh I can't wait for the handshake.

Knowing the parties that is exactly what I thought. The network had the camera on Haley repeatedly as the seconds were ticking away and you could tell he had lost his composure.

D-bags. Both lack class, plus Haley is just arrogant.

Question is not if they are (both) d-bags, it's 'Were they born that way' or 'were they taught to be d-bags?'

Raiders beat the Broncos 59-14 in Denver.

Broncos beat the Chiefs 49-29 in Denver.

If the Raiders played the Chiefs in Denver, what would the final score be?

I'm willing to bet the McDaniels shook Tom Cable's hand after the Raiders put up 59 on Denver and won by 45 points three weeks ago.

I don't understand the complaint about Denver throwing the ball deep in the 4th quarter. Here are the plays Denver ran:

continuing 3rd quarter drive.

KC 39 - run 2 yards

KC 37 - pass short left for 10 yards

KC 27 - run -5 yards

KC 32 - pass short left for 16 yards

KC 16 - run 1 yard

KC 15 - pass short left for 15 yards and a touchdown. Denver goes up 49 to 17.

KC 42 - run 2 yards

KC 40 - run 4 yards

KC 36 - incomplete short right

KC 36 - punt

KC 38 - run 4 yards

KC 34 - run 1 yard

KC 33 - run 1 yard

KC 32 - pass short right for 2 yard. Turnover on downs.

Den 40 - kneeldown for -1 yards

I don't see any DEEP throws in there and in the 3rd quarter they only threw 8 passes with just 1 going deep. That was when they were up 42-10 with 4:43 left in the quarter and they had the ball 1st and ten on their own 1 yard line.

Passing stats for Denver in the second half 7 out of 12 for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns. I don't see how that's "running up" the score. I didn't see the game so I can't comment about the blitzing part but Denver did not record a sack in the second half so that doesn't appear to be an issue either.

Suck it up Todd.

"He also appears to have some choice words for McDaniels while wagging his finger. What was that all about?"

He was pointing to the shirt? :(

As putrid as Denver's defense has been, I wouldn't consider many leads safe. Maybe I'm just a hypocrite or blinded by my hatred of the Pats, but I see this game as being different than when the Pats were running up the score against teams in 2008.

1) It's pretty funny because they both are from the Belichick tree :lmao:2) Haley is in the wrong, assuming he saw the Broncos game tape of the Oakland game. Not sure any lead is safe with them  -QG
