Todd Heap (1 Viewer)

I currently have Gates and Marcedes Lewis as my TE. I can snag Todd Heap for a cheap draft pick but I'm concerned about his injury. It's reported it was a right calf injury. Is this any connection to his long injury from last year? Does anyone think he will really miss significant time this year due to the injury?

I would love to trade for him but if Gates is not healthy for the beginning of the season I hate to trade for a backup who is also injured to start the year...or worse, if this "right calf" is actually the same hammy problem as last year and it's a worse (re) injury as reported.

What do you think?

Make the deal, Heap is fine, he's being held out on a precautionary instance for a minor injury. Heap's injury-proneness is greatly exaggerated. He tore his hammy last year and suffered a major ankle injury in 04', other than that he's been pretty healthy his entire career.

If you can get Heap as a backup do it, he may very play his way above Gates, or at least well enough to make you comfortable trading Gates(or Heap himself) for a star at another position.

Heap could be playing right now if he were needed. He's a lock for week 1(unless something new happens) and you can get him cheap, frankly its an easy call.
