Tolbert and Reese (1 Viewer)

Aside from speed, they have everything you are looking for in a back. They can catch, block and run well. They seem like they make for better tailbacks than chris johnson, shonn green, benson, wells (and the washington rb's prior to the season). Tolbert was a FA this offseason. Why didn't GB or PIT sign him? GB especially. Tolbert seems like he would have been perfect for that team.

I agree that Tolbert would have been a great fit for Pitt or GB. Carolina has a ridiculous amount of many spent at RB, it really boggles my mind. It's one of the few positions where you can get good production without spending a large portion of your payroll. I'm sure that a few teams offered him a contract, but he obviously chose the best destination for himself, his family and his financial health.

yes and i agree. i just said slow to avoid someone posting "because they are slow"

Reese has straight ahead speed but not much wiggle. I think Tolbert is better than Benson and some of the other starting backs out there but he isn't going to break many long runs. He has also melted down in some key situations over the years.
