Not recovering as hoped, Broncos veteran center Tom Nalen will have another surgery on his ailing left knee Thursday.

Nalen, in his 15th year with the Broncos, first had an arthroscopic procedure to repair torn cartilage in June. He participated the first week of training camp, but had to shut it down because of soreness.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan described the procedure Nalen will have Friday as a clean-up with hopes that Nalen will be ready to play by the season opener Sept. 8 at Oakland.

At 37 years old, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the end of the line for the 37 yo center.

Sounds sort of like the way "stink" went out - and on to ESPN.

Too bad - for both Nalen and Selvin/Hall hopefuls.
