Dwyer made the team too, so not sure that Redman is a clear handcuff, I would think 3 headed RBBC if Mendenhall goes down.
Having stashed away Redman on my bench, I'd be interested in any homers' take as to (1) Redman's skill set beyond being a short-yardage hammer; and (2) what the RBBC situation would look like if Mendenhall gets hurt or falters badly.ETA: after the draft, Dwyer looked like the handcuff, but beyond a solid performance in the last preseason game, hasn't exactly been a coaching favorite
(1) Redman's skill set beyond that is a little difficult to determine, since Tomlin was very clearly using him for exactly this. Even when he came in and ran with the 1st teamers, it was primarily off tackle and power type, 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust type stuff.(2) Quite sure that would result in RBBC, with Mewelde Moore getting the starts, at least at first, but probably an unannounced "open competition" where any one of the other three would have his chance to stake a claim.
