tonneau covers (1 Viewer)

SHIZNITTTT

Footballguy
Just purchased a new truck.  Was thinking of getting a tonneau cover, but the market is flooded with them.  I once had a hard fiberglass type one piece but that is a PITA.  So, does anyone own a tonneau cover and would they recommend it.  TIA

I had a soft tonneau on my last F150.  It was easy to use and just folded up - tri fold style.  It kept my luggage and golf clubs dry.

Congrats on the new truck.

I used to own a truck with the fiberglass hard tonneau cover.  It was a pita as you know, but I'd prefer it over no cover.  It's just too handy to be able to lock up whatever is in the bed and know it's not going to get wet.

My brother in law has an aluminum retractable cover, that is a lot easier to manage than the hardcover.  It's lockable, keeps the stuff dry and fully opens with ease.  The downside is you lose a little cargo space, and they are really expensive.

I don't have any experience with the other types of folding covers but they always looked flimsy to me.

First, nice truck.

Second, I have a one piece "UnderCover" that came with the truck.  You are right those suck...

The folding kind are the way to go.

Very, very nice truck.  That is close to the F150 I am going to order next but yours may be flashier.  Congrats again.

I have the Truxedo Lo Pro Qt. actually had a lesser priced Truxedo cover and took it off to put on the lo pro. It has one latch on the left side that pops the over up.

The other covers I have seen and the lesser priced Truxedo cover you need to hands to release the cover.

Yea, that's exactly what mine is. Quick latch on the left.

I really like the soft cover. Way stronger and more durable than you think too. We get feet of snow sometimes. No issues with weight on it at all.

I used to have one of those rolling types. Hated it. Would always unlock and unroll itself if I hit any bumps or went of sweet jumps.

I've had the soft top and now have the hard fold cover. I prefer the hard fold. More secure and can set light things on top while loading the kids also no velcroe to deal with.

Love having a cover that and a spray in liner was the first thing I did when I got my new truck.

Was it a truxedo? I've had two, over two trucks / 10 years, and never had that happen once.

I'm with you. I love my hard fold cover on my Sporttrac. My bed isn't big so I treat it like a big trunk most of the time.
